Very nice reel, caught 55 inch sturgeon through the ice with the 6000 Okuma.

Good Deal For The Money Spent

Seems to work good for my needs. Overall for the price, this seems like a good deal. Would buy again.

Great Saltwater Reel

Bought another one a month ago. This is my "go to" reel for surf fishing. Good price point and it holds up really well. The bait-liner feature is very important when you have multiple rods in use. I highly recommend it.

Great Reel

Purchased an Okuma brand reel for the first time. Love it, smooth retrieve, works great!

Cheap Made

I bought this reel less than a month ago and after only catching a few smaller fish with it, the bait runner gears completely fell apart. Seems cheaply made. Would not recommend.

Solid Reel

I have a few different sizes. Love them both. Just got the 8000. I have had the 5000 and it performs great. Love the bait runner feature. Caught more stripers than I can remember last year.

Worth The Money

This is my second one. I like the first one so much I bought another one for my second rod

Great Reel For Bait Or Lures

Have caught many fish, very versatile with lures and a definite plus for kids learning to use live bait. Just turn the handle and it goes to the 2nd drag after hook set.

Poor Quality

I bought this two months ago and took it out fishing four times the last time on a fishing charter and the rear drag lock started slipping making it impossible to reel with out the rear drag disengaging the spool rod. 2 days past the return period. Waste of money.

Very Versatile Reel

I now have 3 Okuma reels in this type. Without the baitrunner feature its great .,But with it, its excellent. It's great for live bait fishing or as a downrigger Reel.

Love This Reel!

Got to use this immediately on a recent trip to the beach. Not to heavy and bulky like my other reels. Smooth retrieve. Only caught small fish so the bait feeder system disnt really come into play but boy is it a cool feature. Look forward to using it for fall striper fishing!
