Solid Jacket All Around

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've not had a chance to use this in the snow, but I've put it up against some serious rain and it has done exceptionally well. Know that it's a fairly stiff structure, which I like but assume that some people might find awkward. I got the XL, which fits my frame (6' 240lbs) and leaves some room for an extra fleece in case it gets crazy cold. I think it would have to be well below freezing for me to feel the need, but I run a little hot.

I liKed the 2 chest pockets, use one for phone and the other for google wipes. The hood is detachable and since I wear a helmet skiing I don’t need the hood. The shoulders have extra strong material to protect the surface when carrying skis.

Inexcusably Bad Pit Zips

I get that this is the entry level jacket, but my 15-year-old $100 ZeroXposur jacket fron Kohls has better-functioning pit zips than this nearly $300 jacket. Otherwise it's very nice, but there's no excuse for such poor function of a crucial feature.

Warmer Than I Thought For A Foundation Jacket

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I live in Minnesota. Gets fairly cold here. Good for most Temps if active. If the wind is howling or single digits I use a high quality fleece full zip base layer and long underwear. That pretty much does the trick. Cuts wind, covers waist well, hood is removable. Thoughtful design extras. Goggle storage inside pocket. Under arm zipper vents, fleece lined collar, waist band collar can be snaped out of the way. Trying to get used to the hand covers at sleeve ends. I'm concerned about their durability overtime. Replacing a 5 year old Columbia jacket.

The jacket is very comfortable! It is not the warmest jacket so if you want warm I’d go with a higher level obermeyer that has primaloft but the jacket itself is very nice!
