My adult son needed more shorts for work as he details cars and has to keep that car's key in his pocket and his phone as they use the phones to assign the next car, so we had hopes for these shorts. Unfortunately he liked the pockets, design and length, just not the rougher material. Still giving them 5 stars as he said he would keep them if they were just of a softer material.

Adventus Cargo Genesis
I have owned a pair of the Smith Summit Convertible Cargo Pants in ‘Medium Olive’ for 4-years now and have exclusively worn them as shorts. After so many great adventures they’re still hanging tuff, I had to grab the shorts version in Court Blue!
The waistband for these is much more comfortable although I don’t have much of an issue in comfort with the original. The fastened belt seems a little thinner, but doesn’t seem less durable, and secures at the waist very well. It is slightly harder to adjust than the predecessor, which isn’t very much an inconvenience for a fastening belt.
I’ll also note this pair seems to be a bit lighter which is a very welcome addition!
Fit is loose and comfy yet secure, just the same as the OG pair, cant wait to see the wear over the years!
