Training, But Make It Fun!

I’m a pretty average runner training for my first 25K trail race in Utah. I’ve been putting in miles this summer with my dog, who’s been my consistent training partner (has seen all my running shoe choices), and we’ve been testing out the Rebel v5 over the past week. This is a prerelease pair (they drop July 1), and honestly, I’ve really enjoyed running in them. They’re lightweight and super smooth, with just enough bounce to make even the slower recovery runs feel a little more fun. I’ve taken them out for a mix of easy miles and a couple steady efforts, and so far they’ve held up great! No blisters, no weird hotspots, and no post-run foot fatigue. I don’t care much about the specs (I am adamantly not a footy), just whether a shoe feels good and lets me focus on the run and these definitely do. I’ll keep training in them as I build toward race day, which will be the farthest I’ve ever run. Curious to see how they feel once I get into the double-digit range more regularly, but so far, they’ve earned a spot in the rotation. Not fast, not fancy. Just a runner (plus one four-legged buddy) trying to get through summer training in one piece.

Do Not Recommend

These shoes caused so much pain, not only in my feet but my shins, knees and hips. At first I thought I may just need to break them in, but soon realized all of the support/pressure is put on the arch of the foot. After the second wear, I couldn't even finish my run. It is hard to imagine these shoes being comfortable for anyone.
