Have had for ~1 month now, it's my go-to for daily chaos. From kids soccer practice, local disc-golf session, office, and day hikes in Front Range area, this pack is the perfect size and carries really well. Also my Golden Retrievers fur doesn't stick to it like most of my other packs.

I bought this pack to wear for day trips hiking the Rockies, and that's still about 2 weeks away, so I can't give a mileage endorsement yet... I'll give the rundown regarding listing vs actual: Construction seems good. Zippers are strong and give some resistance so it's not so easy to yank open upward as they demonstrate, but it'll probably loosen with time, but I don't even care about that feature. The hip belt pockets are too small for a phone, which is noted by a lot of reviewers for this bag... it's either a poor choice or a design oversight. The pocket up top will easily hold your phone, but you're not going to be taking fast photos on the fly from this bag. I think it would be annoying to add a shoulder strap case for it, but that's me. I was able to fit my 1.5L water bladder and route the straw tube easily enough. I doubt it would hold a bigger one. The internal bottle holders are a cool design, but do note that the outside pockets are snug and will battle for space against interior items. I don't think I'll be able to overstuff this bag, but it should be enough for water, some food, crampons, poles, raincoat, pair of socks, and maybe a puffy jacket. I wouldn't expect to backpack camp out of this bag, but if you were hyper minimal and a small person, maybe. Adjustment of the velcro height slider is easy enough when you use the plastic shield to help position along the level marks. I bought black, so I can't speak to color accuracy on mine. I know it's a 32L bag, but the photos can make it seem bigger than it is. In reality... not small per se, but definitely not a hauler. Comfort seems good, but I can tell that I'll have to readjust everything once there's weight in there. It's not ultralight, but it's own weight definitely isn't enough to settle the bag on you. I'm a 6'6" 270lb gym-goer, 2xl shirt and 36" waist, and I'm definitely maxing out the size of person this bag will fit well on. I don't have the back slider maxed out but I'm one notch under, and I think people shorter than me will like the bag better. Then again, this seems to be one of the only bags in the 32L segment that a tall person can wear at all. All in all, I'm happy with it so far... I have a lot of bags for different purposes, this one is more technical in design and not well suited to anything urban, although you'll get some leeway there if you remove the hip belt. For grab and go, this should be fine. Maybe 10-20mile stuff. We'll see how the Rockies go.

Pack is the best I own can put a lot of stuff if u pack right I got a weeks worth of stuff in it and it was raining all week and stuff stayed dry

I bought this pack for day hikes and possibly travel and have not been disappointed. I've had it out on several hikes now, and it has held up well, even to scrambling through some pretty rough/sharp rock. This pack has plenty of size to accommodate early/late season layers, family hikes, etc., but cinches down tightly when the extra space isn't needed. Pros: Lightweight, highly adjustable, comfortable, well-made. Great overall design - great use of pockets without going overboard, adjustable gear loops, compression straps. Cons: Three-zipper design works great when the pack is full, but not quite as smoothly when it isn't. The side pouches are very loose for a standard nalgene and the compression straps are just a little too high to run through the loop.

Bought this bag 2 weeks ago and love it! Very well thought out back pack! The internal organizers are a great idea. Keep all my supplies I need for day trips and use it for EDC of stuff needed to travel in the deserts

I purchased this pack for a Himalayan trek that would carry my essential items for the day. The zipper design gives easy access to the interior without having to did through layers of gear to get what you need. The pockets on the hip belt are a great for small items that can be accessed quickly and easily. Nice exterior pockets for water bottles too!

Great color, thick straps with good padding and just as indestructible as all of mystery ranch!! Perfect for long day hikes or short overnighters. Great adjustment in all respects (load lifters, back straps, hip belt, compression…)

I bought the Scree a month ago and have really enjoyed it. All the features you would want, plus the pack's construction is top notch! I very much appreciate you can get two different sizes as well as adjust each of those to tailor fit your body.

I researched about a dozen backpacks between 24-36L for my upcoming day hiking adventures. Between YouTube, online journals and customer reviews I narrowed my list down to the Mystery Ranch Scree 32L and I couldn’t be happier with my decision. I’m a big fan of the three zipper system to fillet the storage so that I have easy access to the bottom of the pack without emptying from the top down. The side pouches expand to hold additional gear or water bottles. The interior side pouches aid with organization. I place emergency items (first aid and fire starting) in the right interior pouch and food, snacks, Sawyer Squeeze in the left pouch. The height adjustments help dial in the shoulder and waist straps for a comfortable carry. The waist strap storage are conveniently located for grab and go items (sunscreen, lip balm, sanitizer, snacks etc.). This is a well thought out and designed pack that continues to get me to and from my destinations.

The perfect bag for my needs. I purchased this bag to replace a bag of similar size that I used for hunting, fishing, and day trip hiking. The Scree is layer out well without having too many pockets and unnecessary features.

I've always been intrigued by the MR 3 zipper design. Dislike having to empty top loader packs to find what I need, so this will help. First impression is that its a well made pack with solid zipper quality. Purchased for long day-hikes...think it would be a stretch for an overnighter pack. First test will be in mid-October in the Eastern Sierras. 4 stars for now...wish it came with a rain cover.

The quality of mystery ranch is phenomenal! This is a great pack for day hikes & extended (overnight) hikes especially in the spring and summer. There is plenty of interior room as well as two exterior bottle sleeves and two admin pockets on the lid. The adjustable frame is a really rigid design and enables this pack to suit a wide range of body types / sizes. If you’re on the fence then get off it already and just buy the pack, you won’t regret it!

Very well built pack, and is easy to fit for a comfortable long days’ hike. I bought a 3l bladder, and it fits perfectly. I love the “Y” opening zippers, as it allows me to easily grab that dang protien bar that worked its way to the bottom of the pack, without having to unload it all trailside. You know, while your hiking buddies all wait (or don’t) and make fun of you for not putting the snacks in the pouches that are conveniently located on the belt… Great pack! Highly reccommended!

best money invested in mountain equipment. I went to the top and realized I had a backpack on my back . you can load everything what is important for 10h of walking on mountain . the best!
