These have been great so far! Bought a month ago, used for 8 days backpacking, they worked well on both sandy dirt and rocky ground and felt sturdy.

I've used the mini version for many years as the peak tie out points for my tarp. After a CDT attempt last summer, I decided I should get the OG versio with a little more length to make for a better hold in the punishing wind and sandier soil of NM. They fit the bill well.

I've tried several (non bendable) tent stakes. They all had one thing in common. They bend. These don't. They are great. Given I never use a hammer I have not broken or bent one. They also hold really well.

I've been using 8 of these stakes for several years now, in all kinds of terrain and am very pleased with them. I've used them in everything from soft, sandy soil, to hard-as-hell rocky soil, to extremely hard-packed gravel tent pads in state parks. They have held up to being pounded in with hammers, the back-side of hatchet heads, and even pieces of firewood. If you're in soft soil, turn them so that one of the ribs is pointing away from your tent, and angle the point at about 20 to 30 degrees towards the tent as you drive it in, and it's amazing how well they'll hold compared to just about anything else out there. The orange-colored cheap copies of these stakes, sold at 'big box' stores, are made of a much softer aluminum allow and bend very easily compared to these. Don't be fooled into buying the el-cheapo orange copies! These are worth every penny of their price.
