This was a replacement purchase. (Don't leave them in the sun at elevation 5300 feet for 2 days. It weakens the material and causes them to develop holes. )

Great bag. The cap is a bit finicky to tighten back on when the bag is full.

Great hydration bladder Wish it could be more durable

Well made. MSR makes good stuff. And redesign continually and smartly.

I purchased this last spring for my motorcycle trip from Spring Branch, TX up to the Arctic Circle in Alaska and back. It performed flawlessly for the whole 31 days and 11,525 miles on the back of my MoskoMoto panniers. The little dispensing valve was great, as I could refill small water bottles, brush teeth, splash face and wash hands, wash/rinse dishes, mix cocktails, etc., all right from the bag holder on the back of my bike. I am very happy with the bag and always pleased with MSR products and their Customer Service Dept.

The large-mouth closure can be tricky to screw on when full of water, but the shape and size(s) are so packable when hauling 4 days’ worth of water and easy to pack into a small side when empty.

Bought and used on multiday backpack. Overall worked perfectly for what we needed. Con: the elastic tie on one end is not load bearing. Pro: a full bag survived a 6 foot fall onto sharp rocks; no damage at all. The packaging could use directions or link or something with initial cleaning directions. I found them online and no plastic or strange taste at all.

Bought the 4lt then read the reviews about lids leaking, bad taste and splitting easily ? I’ve had none of these issues, so can only say how good it is

I bought two and the first time I filled them up one leaked. Tried switching caps and playing around with it but no luck. Disappointing.

I just got one of these bags the 2L one whit my mosko moto panniers and the taste of the water got awful first i thinks it was some contaminated water or bag but after some good disinfection and cleaning I travel 800 kms carring the bag on my bag and i got the same super bad plastic flavor on the water i used the water to clean my gear insted of drinking or washing my self. buyer be aware maybe you can drink it, but maybe you can get sick don't get these bag as you primary source of clean water, because MSR drop the ball on these. Great functionality but not for drinking.

I have owned droms for a long time and they are always useful. This one is lighter weight than my previous ones but still durable.

Not nearly durable enough. If you are planning to use as a tool and not a jewel get the normal one. Put this thing down on some pine needles wrong and it’ll tear. Ultralight is a fine idea until it’s applications are so limiting that a product can’t function in most environments. Do not rely on this product for expedition use, be very careful of where it is at all time if car camping etc.

The discontinued red bags were remarkable for their durability and relatively light weight. Also, they didn't cause the water to taste bad. Please bring them back!
