I recently purchased this MSR 2 pot system and then went on a 2week, 5 state road trip. These posts heat fast and even. These pots are a nice size for car-based/overlanding camping but for 1 to 2 person backpacking they will be too big. The handle is very secure once attached but this lends itself to a problem if you are trying to use both pots to cook. It is difficult to remove and I believe it is unsafe to switch between pots when you have boiling liquid in one. Believe me I tried. Fortunately, I had an old pot grip with me that ended up being my go-to solution. It didn't scratch the cooking surface. I will leave the MSR handle at home next time. The drain holes are a nice gimmick but you have make sure you don't reach across them to remove the lid. You may get scalded by hot steam. (I learned this one quickly). I usually do not cook pasta when camping so this is a useless feature for me. Pearl Couscous is my usual substitution for pasta, and I do not have to drain the water. Overall, these pots are well made and cook well for my needs, but I am disappointed with the handle. I believe the handle is over engineered and too complex to be used safely. Without a backup handle you basically have a one pot system. One more thing. A storage bag would be nice.
