No Durability

Holes at the toe-crease after 10 days of city walking! I have orthotics and have a hard time finding shoes I can walk in that don’t cause foot agony. The original Moab speed winter version have been a success so I had high hopes for these boots. I have worn the boots 10 times in the last 11 days, city walking only, I haven’t even tested out the waterproofness yet! Both boots have worn a hole where the toe boxes creases. So disappointed 😢

Comfortable In Very Cold Weather

Bought 2 weeks ago, have been wearing them constantly in sub-zero temps and snow. I’m finding them comfortable all day and having no issues with cold or wet feet. Great so far. Am not as happy with color, though for the price, I can deal with it . I bought the “grey” with green stripes. Weird for winter but it saved me a bunch of $ to do so.

Live And Learn

Too big in the ankle area but perfect in the toe. I wish these fit me better. I had originally ordered the 9 but they were too short in the toe but perfect in the ankle. Honestly I should have just sent the 9.5 back but I have worn this size before with Merrill’s and never had a sizing issue so I went on a hike with them about 2 weeks ago. Otherwise they are nice looking and seem to be a great boot. I do not see myself wearing these boots often. I wasted my money but I guess you live and learn.

Great Lightweight Hiking Shoe For Travel

Very pleased with my first Merrill shoe. Purchased for a trip to Africa with two days of easy hiking and remainder of trip on Safari (mostly seated in vehicles). Trip included walking thru airports and a German city on a 11 hour stopover. I had no foot pain, blistering or discomfort throughout trip. Loved the light weight of shoe! I have a narrow foot, but read that shoe is a little wider and given cold weather sock layers and travel swelling, I took a chance based on some happy reviews. Note I found the shoe on sale and after using reward points, it was a low risk investment that paid off for me. I wear a size 8.5 and bought a half size up, size 9. Back at home, I’ve walked 3-5 miles a day and find the fit is too big/wide for me in thinner socks, so I’ll reserve these for colder days (thick socks) and travel. I would order another pair in my true size based on reasons stated for sizing up. Happy Hiking!

Comfort, Support And Safety.

Highly recommended for the comfort and support the Moab Speed 2 Mid GORE-TEX provided. We wore it for long moderate to challenging hikes (for instance, those historic pilgrim paths). Even after long hours of wear, the feet do not feel sore, certainly not hurt. It’s not exactly water proof, but at least offers same level of comfort and support after air-dry from a complete soak episode.
