    I was looking for a light weight hiker to travel with. I wore these on the Samaria Gorge in Crete which is a significant down hill descent for the first two miles then bolder hopping and rocky train for the next 7. My feet did great in these shoes, which is a significant accomplishment. My only complaint is the padding on the back ankle is breaking down quicker than I expected. Really appreciate a good shoe that works with my difficult feet.

    These fit like my many other pairs of Merrill’s. They are supportive but I’m questioning whether they have enough cushioning for all day comfort. I have hip and spine issues and I don’t feel like they are absorbing the impact of my steps as well as I was hoping. I’m still on the fence about keeping these. I ordered the colour Moonbeam and it’s different from the pictures. While the laces are a shade of pink/beige, the shoe is more of a grey/purple hue, it’s hard to describe but they are not the cream colour shown.
