Bought these for an early season trip to South Dakota - I knew it would be too hot for my normal boots. Put 25,000+ steps on them in rough pheasant cover and I was extremely pleased with the comfort. Fit is perfect for me. I would love these in a taller version!

I'm a long time Merrell customer. These boots fit exactly like the Merrell boots I've owned. However, these don't offer the same support. The tongue has no leather support at the top and are thinner material like other Merrell Boots and when tied, bunch up so I can't get the same lateral support. Laces are thinner. Overall, they look good, but the bottom line is I don't recommend these boots!

Comfy to wear, easy to stand in for long periods of time. Was glad I didn't have to spend weeks breaking them in for them to be comfortable shoes.

I’m really impressed with the Speed Strike 2 Mid Waterproof hiking shoes. The comfort is outstanding, they offer the solid ankle support of a mid-height boot but feel as agile and lightweight as a trail runner. The ridged soles are great on rocks and the traction is top-notch offering excellent grip on loose dirt and rocky paths. The waterproof membrane works well keeping unexpected puddles at bay while still letting my feet breathe. I think they look great, the versatile earthy tone doesn't show dirt easily. If you're looking for a durable, dry, and athletic hiking shoe for day hikes or light backpacking, these are a winner!

These are my first pair of Merrell boots and they don’t disappoint! I’ve done long hours on my feet on solid concrete surfaces for years and found the Nike Goadome’s to be best suited for that, but with the cancellation of that boot design I struggled to find anything that’s specifics merited a try; till I came across these. No, they don’t have “air” pockets but the design hugs my foot instead of confining it. And the wider foot bed/toe space makes walking a mile and a half on the first day of owning them a breeze! The soles aren’t vibraim but the don’t need to be. The dirt/mud are easy to navigate and clean up is easy while not making the boot feel “clunky “. Worth the money spent!
Great casual hiking boot
I am in my 60’s, just started a new hobby. Beginning to hike and needed a great pair of boots that are comfortable and provide good grip on slippery trails. These boots were comfortable on the very first hike. No break in period necessary! Great fit and felt comfortable!

I wanted a warm, comfortable and robust hiking and camping boot. The Speed Strike 2 absolutely ticks all of these boxes. I wore them for the first time for 2 days straight walking/standing, normally I would get blisters wearing new shoes in but these were super comfortable. Very happy with my purchase.
