Trip into Alaska for 7-Day bushwhacking and I've probably hiked another 100 mi with these and all kinds of terrain. Very comfortable nicely waterproof no problems to date.
This is the best athletic hiking boot made - it is what Merrell does better than anyone. Out of the box I took them on a cold weather hike on snow dusted trails. The traction is incredibly secure. The Gore-Tex fabric kept my feet warm and dry. They fit like a glove. This boot makes me look forward to my hikes, regardless of the weather.

Commenting on the person who wrote "What can be accomplished to meet the needs of many," Merrell Rogues have been life-changing for me. Not the same experience as that poster, but I am now able to walk in rough places I could not because of my many foot problems. It had been years since I could walk on anything other than a sidewalk or flat trail.

These have to be the most comfortable hiker I’ve ever worn. Wear them for daily use and sometimes 16+ hours a day. Really wish they were still available. Needing a new pair

I was hesitant at first. It was shaped in such a way that I thought was unusual and passed on buying at first. However after purchasing the Agility Peak 5 Goretex w/ Goretex. Having served as an Army Ranger- I became critically injured. 30 reconstructive surgeries. 2 1/2 years hospitalized over thre last 4 years. Having owned 4 pair of Merrill’ prior to this life changing event. Now using forearm crutches I am able to spend 2 hours daily walking on rough terrain. I wanted a mid size boot to compliment the Agility Peak 5 and found numerous features duplicated in these boots. Ordered 2 pair. Opening the box I was struck by the quality of construction. They also looked very smart. I was elated. Immediately after trying them out. I found the support was impressive and really appreciated the rock plate as I encountered several sections with shattered rock. It just took every obstacle in stride. Great articulation. Wearing one set of midweight merino socks I did feel they were slightly larger in size and required 2 pairs of socks. So I put on a pair of compression socks followed by the merino. What a difference. The fit was snug- whether I was climbing on a steep section and then descending heir was no slippage. Strong arch support with good front foot form. Having 4 crushed disc’s implants from knee to femur to hip to shoulder. My entire right side had been broken shattering my femur. This is where the full quality of these boots shined. They felt like I was walking on a cloud. The path was ragged. But they took it all in stride. Then I thought about many of my buddies that had come back broken in pieces. Like myself, we were a brotherhood and as I was walking I became deeply impressed with their plights. They should know more about Merrill. As a suggestion- Merrill in co-operation with Vibram has strived to produce a vast arena of footwear that would meet the needs to assist disabled veterans on their road to recovery walking with Merrill one step at a time. Headbands with Merrell. Merrell leading the way for disabled veterans. The Rogue Hiker is the pinnacle of years of research and development. If we had these Rogues in camouflage whether going back to Vietnam to current iED’s planted by ISIS. This is the best all around boot I have ever owned. And should be the footwear of the U.S. military. Having run the Pikes Peak Marathon to climbing 3 -14,000 peaks in the Collegiate range located in Colorado. I have developed a modest understanding of footwear. Thank you Merrell for developing footwear that can meet the needs of every man and women on an individual basis.

I bought these around a month ago in preparation for hiking in Colorado. I must say these are the most comfortable hiking shoe I have owned. The fit perfect and were comfortable right out of the package. They fit like a glove!

I love these. Bring the orange ones back. Comfy and durable shoe. Multiple 14ers in Colorado, snowshoeing and trail running on top of pretty consistent hiking.

I put these boots on twice once in the house. The second time to go outside at that time The white shoelace hook on the boot broke off. It’s made out of plastic. And doesn’t hold up. I returned these boots.
