Too Noisy.

Really disappointed in the crinkle noise in every step. I've had gore-tex Novas in the past without the issue. I hope they move back to gore-tex. Otherwise, these are too noisy.

They are comfortable and work well in wet environments. However, they tried it already peeling off after about a month of use.

A Light Nice-looking Shoe In A Clunky Universe

Nice light shoe. If it fits, I suggest you get it. Looks way better than most shoes on the market unless you like the look of your shoe to look like a hiking shoe. I prefer a little “street cred”, so coming to and from hiking things they look good. It comes in wide but that made it really loose for me. I had go a full size down to find the right fit. At the end, it’s not perfect for fit, but I don’t blame the shoe itself. Black colour looks really good, but dust makes it look grey. Just rinse it off and it looks really good again. I can’t stress how light they are, which is really nice. Oh, I got the Gore-Tex version, for the record. Also, the wide shoe is actually a tad shorter in length than the regular fit. If Merrell made the regular length the same as the wide, the shoes would have fit me perfectly. I was leaving for a trip so I bought them even without a perfect fit, and they have done well non-athletic shoe hikes in the Swiss alps. Once again, nice shoe if they fit you perfectly. They’ve done the job for me, and were way way lighter than the Moab 3’s.

The Perfect Hiking Shoes

This is my first pair of Merrells. I thought these would be clunky, but these are the most comfortable shoes I own (next to my Onitsuka Tigers). Tested them in the Rockies and they are sure footed and lightweight. Have not tried the waterproof functionality yet, but the Colour is great and they are more versatile than I thought.

Shoes Seem Cheaply Made, And Fall Apart Quickly.

The shoes look great and are comfortable, but they don't last. I usually get my boyfriend new work shoes in December and June. I purchased a pair for my boyfriend for Christmas in 2025, and by March the toe area was seperating from the sole. He didn't even begin wearing them until the end of January, as he was off work most ofnthe month. He liked the comfort, color, and water proofness so much, we thought maybe just a bum pair and he bought himself another pair. He has worn them a little over 3 months, and a rip has appeared in the top of the shoes. Very disappointed.

Great But Miss The Mids

Shoes are comfortable. They are new so not sure how long they will last but if they are anything like the 3 Mids they’ll last a while. I do how ever miss the mid style. The low cut are fine but I was hoping for the mids again.

Great Shoe

Very comfortable. Sizing is correct and I love the feel.

Light Shoe, Weak Heel Cup

Very light, but the padding behind the heel is really soft, it'll be an issue on the long term.

Excellant Stability And Reliable Merrell Fit.

The fit is excellant. Due to the lining it runs just a bit more snug and much warmer than my non-waterproof Nova 4, so I either wear them barefoot or with a very thin sock. I doubt I would wear them in any dry/hot climate - that is what my normal Nova 4's are for. Great forefoot room but not sloppy. I don't run but the walking stability, cushion and traction are perfect for me. I have not yet encountered them in slippery mud. I am 72 y.o., 6'2" 200 lbs, size 13. I have the blue/purple pair and get a lot of compliments on them.

My Feet Love Them.

Very comfortable, not stiff, excellent support. I can wear them all day and not suffer any or a least minimal foot fatigue. Great traction and stability on varied surfaces.

Noisy And Narrow

Too Narrow and Waterproof Materials Sounds Like a Unwrapping a Candy with Each Step. Returned

Terrible

I’ve had these shoes for 5 months and they are not waterproof and have ripped in four spots where the material is sued into the rubber. Not worth the money spent!! Absolute garbage.

Comfortable Shoes.

So far very comfortable. Haven't tested them on the trail yet.
