Let's Not Kid Ourselves, These Run Small

So I came back to Merrell after years of working with the Vasque Juxt. Virtually every hiking shoe I've worn fits to a standard 9 regular. However, these run small in the toe box. it could be the waterproof liner shaving off some length. At my traditional size 9, I can barely fit my index finger between my heel and back of boot. On any downhill, my toes are pushing against the front. That being said, it is still has all the potential to be a comfortable shoe. It's just limited. After a few months of hoping to break in, and no sign of such, it's too late to send back for a larger size. KEEP THIS IN MIND.

Great Shoes

This is my second pair of Moabs. I wear them when I am walking the dogs in all kinds of weather and in a variety of places -- wet walks in the woods; dry walks on pavement; everyday walks around the neighborhood. The shoes are comfortable, waterproof, and very comfortable.

Perfect Fit

The waterproof Moab 3 wide width shoes are great. I bought these after my Moab 2 shoes were worn out. I live in these shoes so I also bought another pair of Moab 3 that are not waterproof. I was a little hesitant about buying the new model but they are a very good fit. I would recommend these for hiking as well as everyday use.

I Love These!

At 75, I've had a lot of shoes and can't remember most of them! However, I think I'm right in saying that these Merrells are probably most comfortable shoes I've ever owned. I bought my first pair about 10 years ago. They have gotten worn, but I still wear them to hack around and they are still comfortable! I decided to get a new pair, thinking that they might be even more comfortable. Rather than a 12 regular, I got 12 1/2 wide, and as you might expect, they are more comfortable than my original ones. The thin, cheap insoles that came in them (as in virtually all shoes) lasted about five days. I replaced them with (an overpriced) pair of Sole insoles, and these increase the comfort dramatically! I think the main thing that makes Merrells comfortable is the sole which is made of rubber lugs/cleats. The rubber has some compliance, some give which definitely imparts a cushioning effect as you walk. They are expensive shoes, but based on their longevity, they certainly seem to be worth the expense.
