Study and comfortable under the dry condition. When my husband hiked under the mild raining condition within a few hours the first time and the second time soon after I bought it, the shoes were somewhat wet, although it is not socked wet, but it is wet. This is the reason I give it 4 star.

Good Comfort, Disappointing Waterproofing

I’ve put a lot of miles on these boots and overall I’ve been really happy with their comfort. They’ve held up well on longer hikes and have been comfortable even after several hours on my feet. My biggest complaint is the waterproofing. Even something as simple as spending the morning walking through wet grass has left my feet wet, which is disappointing for a boot advertised as waterproof. Overall, they’re a comfortable hiking boot that I’ve enjoyed wearing, but the waterproofing hasn’t lived up to my expectations.

I bought the Moab hiker to replace an old pair. I ended up taking them on my trip to Ireland. I am impressed that they feel broken in on day one. I ended up walking in urban areas, on roc ky trails, across sandy beaches and wet grass. Nothing stopped these shoes. I highly recommend getting the water proof pair. The top shoelace hooks are different from before, but I think they are an improvement. I highly recommend these Merrell shoes!
