Trash, not waterproof. Worst boots ive owned. I wore these boots 3 times. That was 2 times too many. My feet got wet walking through fresh cut grass.

I have used variations on this hiking Boot for years now... both as everyday go-to and for hiking for exercise on fairly rugged ground, in fair weather and sloppy -- (my older brother has as well... though the last Merrell shoes I gave him this past holidays was the waterproof Crocs... he is starting to get a little age on him now, tripped accidentally and had a bad fall with boot laces tangled up , so I tried some of Merrells comfy sturdy mocs for him this last time , neither of us had ever worn moc style shoes before... but he likes them a lot, very comfortable and secure on his feet with no laces.. I am still using the boots) I would not have ordered them over & over if they weren't well made boots ( they are not as strong and rugged as the next class upward of really extreme conditions boots like my expensive North Face... that's not what you ate purchasing these for.. but I live in hot humid NCarolina and those extreme conditions NFace boots are genuinely great boots but they are waaaayyy too hot/ heavy for an everyday wearer most of the time here, like the Merrell) still, I will recommend if you want good well supported dry feet in everyday sloppy days , or wintry or year round conditions, or on hikes with some more challenging terrain, choose the Merrell with GoreTex --- that does make a difference-- and you won't go wrong with these popular Merrell hikers- they're a well run company in my experience, never had problems with them, they make good products that look good , look outdoorsy and sharp and --_they should make good pair of shoes good for you or a gift recipient -- thank you, enjoy, stay safe everyone ( Phillip in N Carolina)

Great boots. I have only used them once in Kanab Utah and was happy with the results.

Consistently comfortable . Now as my son grows into adult sizes we are creating another lifetime customer. Keeps his feet protected on Boy Scout trips.

Comfort is 5 stars for my feet. The problem I had with this shoe is that it was not waterproof. It leaked badly on my first wet hiking trip. I wound up using plastic grocery bags over my feet before getting into the shoe to keep dry - leaked both shoes, so it wasn't just some random defect. Unfortunately that first wet trip was after 1 year of ownership so Merrell's warranty was over. Fortunately, Gore-Tex has a Guaranteed-to-keep-you-dry warranty. I sent the shoes in to Gore-Tex and got a full refund from them. If you buy these shoes, test them right away in wet conditions. I have had other shoes (different brand) with Gore-Tex which were perfectly waterproof for 10 years and only leaked a tiny bit by the time the soles were worn down. So, Gore-Tex can work perfectly fine. I just think Merrell may have a quality issue with these boots. Hopefully someone from Merrell reads this, looks into the issue and improves manufacturing quality, because otherwise they are very nice boots.

If you want footware to perform in Canadian weather conditions then Merrell is the go to.

I wore these every day on a weeklong trip, walking many miles on trails and city sidewalks. My feet felt better than they have in any other boots I've ever worn. I've had trouble with plantar fasciitis and have been dealing with a bad case for months. Wearing these boots with Powerstep insoles has been a gamechanger. I can also vouch for their waterproofness. I walked in a creek that came halfway up the boots and had no water get in. This is a great boot at a very reasonable price. Highly recommended!

Waterproof works well, much better than my nongortex moab3

This seems like a well-constructed hiking boot. I believe the boots run very slightly larger (maybe 1/4 size larger) and wider than standard, but that is what I wanted. Boot is reasonably comfortable, but doesn't have a lot of padding underfoot. Sole offers good traction and laces remain tied. I haven't tested the boots in wet conditions and can't comment on water-proofing. Definitely will purchase again.

Light and ready for any length of hike you desire right out of the box.

I was a die hard keen guy for years till i started wearing Merrells. They fit my feet so much better and the arch support even having wide feet feels great. My last pair lasted me well over a year and i abused them. Hiking, fishing, mud, snow, and sand. I can say i had them in every type of terrain and they did great. Bought this new pair for summer adventure and looking forward to having some solid footware. If youre thinking about trying them out just pull the trigger you wont be disappointed.

Very comfortable and the wide size works really good

Excellent boot. I would recommend to anyone doing moderate to strenuous hiking in cool to cold weather.

I'll never buy Merrell again. On my second pair now and the same thing happened as the first pair. Fit just fine when you first put them on and wear a few times then they start stretching out and don't fit like they did after exchange period runs out. I wear a 13 and these now fit like a 13.5, or 14. Foot just swimming in them now. Worthless.
