I like the pants but they are tight around the zippered legs. The addition of belt loops would be nice

I am a many-year fan of Marmot, with a wide variety of items from them in the wardrobe. Many of the items are functional both in the more extreme conditions of adventuring as well as daily wear. So, first off, Thank you, Marmot. I was preparing for a hiking jaunt through the Grand Canyon and Zion with my daughter's high school, and wanted to update my convertible pants kit, to make very early starts comfortable while still managing the mid-day heat. Basically I really like the pants - good, sturdy material, nice fit, color-coded zippers for the leggings...and was glad to have them for the journey. A couple of minor details that would put them up a star, for me: The rear pockets are a bit shallow, and have no closure, so they are vulnerable to things falling out on the trail. The cargo pocket is too shallow to accommodate the leggings, which would be helpful if only carrying a small satchel while hiking (common for me). And, finally, to echo others, the belt system seems a bit limited, and would be improved by either a full belt, or belt loops. That said, I am glad to have them in my kit!

Love these pants, mobile, well made and convertible!

Another quality pair of pants from Marmot. I like the overall fit, as well as pocket structure (depth of pockets; placement of cargo pocket, etc.). Included belt is ok - but worry it may break during laundry cycle

I needed pants for hiking and prefer long pants to protect my legs but also wanted to convert to shorts when I'm running hot. This is great for me because this is the short length version with 30-inch inseam which fits my legs better than regular length version.

Nice pants... Quality and fit are great. I am not sure how often I will unzip the legs to convert to shorts but at least I have the option... always wanted a pair of these.

Very well made, comfortable and very durable. Highly recommend
Hard to find a pair of good fitting convertible pants for a 5’ 6” person. This fits great. Also I wear waist 33 but this with the side elastics and size 32” is a perfect snug fit. Good stitching and material and plenty pockets. Nice!

The bottom can be removed and then become a short. However, such a design makes it feels large

Very comfortable. A little bit long for me, otherwise fits great. Easy day today where or for special outdoor events. No hesitation recommending.
For my son. He likes them and wears convertible hiking pants to all scouting events.

Size is accurate, and the pants are well made. Happy with the purchase and bought a second pair. People complaining about the back pockets not providing much function may have merit if you carry a wallet or utilize them frequently. A money clip works just fine in the front pocket and it wasn't an issue.

Based on reading prior reviews before purchasing, I knew what I was getting so I’m good with the purchase. That said, I wish Marmot still made the “original” version, of which I have two pair. Specifically, that version has belt loops and zipper bottoms for easy removal over shoes. The former made for a “dressier,” more flexible where you can wear them look, while the latter is obvious and, as another reviewer wrote, I real head scratcher as to why Marmot abandoned.
