Rope

A rope is a rope unless it sucks, and this one doesnt suck. It works. It doesnt tangle. I've trusted my life with this rope, and so have others.

The rope is nice and affordable, but it was coreshot after a few uses. I used a permadraw which might be the reason. I’d buy again.

The rope is very easy to manage due to its slim profile and supple feel. It feeds smoothly through devices like Grigri and is easy to clip on long routes. Ideal Uses • Sport climbers who want a lightweight rope for long routes. • Alpine climbers who care about minimizing rack weight. • Trad climbers looking for a rope that can double in half or twin configurations. Not Ideal If • You primarily do heavily abrasive cragging where rope abuse is constant. In that case, a thicker rope like a 9.5-mm or 9.8-mm might hold up longer.

Great rope that feeds well through a grigri and has a soft catch. Good option for a lightweight LRS rope.

My Favorite Rope Ever

I love this rope. Rappels smoothly in the high-friction mode with my Nordwand Alpine ATC. It’s the right balance of lightweight but still tough enough as a single rope. I tend to use thicker ropes for cragging days and projecting, but this is my perfect rope for alpine multipitch routes. It weighs less than my 60m 9.6mm BD rope. Also the color is much more vibrant in person.

Great Outdoor Rope

I use this for outdoor multi-pitch. Handles well and is light weigh, with the 9mm diameter.

Great Lightweight Rope

This rope has been my go-to since getting it. The dry treatment is great quality and it’s noticeable how little water the rope absorbs climbing in the rain and how quickly it dries afterwards. The sheath has taken a solid beating with a variety of rock types for both leading and top roping and is still in great shape. 80m at 9.0 is still light enough to not be a drag to carry, but might not be the best choice for a serious project workhorse rope. Be careful uncoiling, it took me a lot of flaking to get the kinks out.

Great Rope!

I got this as a replacement for a sterling nano IX. This rope is quite soft handling and very light. Not the lightest, but pretty close. the middle mark is visible and the dry treatment seems better than sterling.

Been a long time fan of Mammut ropes, great handling and excellent durability.

Light weight comparatively. Smaller and stays dry!

Light All Purpose Climbing Rope

this rope has an excellent feel. I have been using it about twice a week for a few months and it's still in great condition. it's light and durable and makes for a great all around rope.

Good Rope But Durability Is Less Than I Hoped

Overall, I would say this is a good rope considering how thin it is, but its durability at the ends is not what I would have hoped from a dry rope. It seems like the dry treatment wore off pretty quickly, especially at the ends. I have already had to chop significant portions off of both ends due to sketchy fuzziness and softness (70m rope becomes 53m). Within a couple of weeks of chopping, both ends are already soft and fuzzy again, so I will probably have to retire the rope soon. I think the main consideration is that it is a thin rope, and I have used it in a rough manner over a few months for developing and climbing. Don't get this rope as a workhorse rope for everything, especially if you climb in an area with abrasive rock because you will have to chop it after only a couple months of use. Get it if you want a rope you pull out every now and again as a light sending rope or something like that. I probably won't ever be buying less than 9.4mm for my uses anymore.
