Easy To Use

Bought these for my new kayak. I've never used a J-Style before. These were super easy to install and the directions were helpful. When loading the kayak, it was fast and easy. For not having used a rack or loaded a kayak, these worked great. I love that the racks fold down, it was worth the additional money.

Easy To Install! Overall A Great Product!

Easy to install! Overall a great product! Only issues I am having is strapping which is more me probably! Sometimes the strap will not slide that easy! Plus my vehicle is some taller than most. I bought two sets hoping to put a third kayak in the middle with no luck!

Great Product, But...

Great product. Well-made. Good instructions. Easy to install and use. The only problem I have is with the second one I bought. The rails on a Toyota Sienna are not wide enough for both sets to open fully and lock. Still working on a solution.

Totally Recommend This Kayak Rack

I have been transporting my Kayak for almost 20 years and have had various Kayak specific carriers. These are great carriers and very stable. It only took me 15 minutes to install the first time, the next time it took about 8 minutes. I remove them between trips and so far it has been really easy. Highly recommended, esp if you have a tall vehicle or larger size Kayak, as the ramps on the front of each carrier really come in handy to prevent contact with your vehicle, or in my case, my wife's baby!! "Dont you scratch my car!" :)

Like The Way They Are Designed.

Which they build them semi oval cross bars like most of cars have like my 2017 Outback. Who has square bars now.

Seem To Be Of Good Quality

I bought this about a month ago and have yet to use it. I had to find extra long bolts because the ones provided by the manufacturer weren’t long enough to use. I chose this product because of the user reviews and have high hopes. They seem to be of good quality and made well.

Easy Loading

Bought these racks in early spring and have used them numerous times. The fold over feature allows for easy stringing of the hold down straps. Highly recommend these over fixed J style racks.

Needed This Rack In Order To Use The Malone Telos Load Assist Module

This rack is needed in order to use the Malone Telos Load Assist Module which I needed in order to load my kayak. This product was easy to install and works well with what I needed for my car. My only complaint is the strap guides on the top of the rack have an open slot that allows the straps to come out of the top of the rack causing you to have to completely unload the kayak in order to reattach the straps. I have modified these by duck taping a small bar over the open part. These guides are not shown on this picture of the rack.

Poor Quality

I bought these for the sole purpose of using the Telos load assist. These things are a pain. My old j cradles had slotted brackets to connect to the crossbars quickly and easily but these you have to completely unscrew to take off your rack. They only open to one position and do not recline enough to slide my kayak up into the cradle with ease. My biggest concern with this product is that I noticed it was slipping back on my crossbar. When I took it off I noticed the rubber which coats the metal bracket tore completely from the bracket and was hanging by a thread after only two uses. Not happy about this but I need this product to use with the Telos. I do like the buckle straps it came with. They are strong and good quality. The way they feed through the cradle secures the kayak to the car very well.

Malone Downloader Kayak Rack

Solid piece of equipment, goes well with my Malone roof bars. Nice that the J-Bars fold down and easier to load my kayak onto the top of my car.

Meets Expectations

Fits my 2012 Dodge Durango OEM roof rack. The square `fit all' contour profile is a mismatch to the oval profile of my Durango but don't think that will be an issue. The fold down feature as I had hoped allows me to garage my vehicle without removal of the racks.

So Easy To Use

This rack works great. Very easy to install to my Rav4 rack and I love that it folds down. The kayak stayed secure and no worries of the straps loosening while driving.

Okay For The Price

Don't care for the way the "Jawz" grip the cross rail on my 2016 Outback. It works but not as solid as I would like. The t-handles were a little bit of a struggle to tighten.

Works Great!

I bought two sets for use on a 4-Runner with Wilderness Pungo kayaks! Performed perfect on the interstate and the kayaks stayed put! Love that I can put them down and use the garage and keep them installed all summer.

Great Product

Easy to use and very well made. Worked on my caravan using factory cross members. Did not fit my bigger fishing kayaks so returned.
