Sizing Is Awful

I have bought these shoes twice now, and returned them twice. First time I bought my true size, too small. Second time I bought half a size up. Too small. Out of stock for the size above so I'm done with La Sportiva after having also worn their Nepals for years (also terrible in sizing) .... going to buy Scarpa from now on.

Very Comfortable And Sturdy!

So far so good. I got these for my intro mountaineering trips, Shasta or other west coast volcanoes. Probably not great for cold weather missions but will be great for summer ones!

Wider That Most La Sportivas

Wider toe box than other la sportivas. Light and breathable, still warm for summer mountaineering in snow and ice. Been up mt shasta via avy gulc in july with these.

My Mont Blanc Boots

I bought these boot for a trek up Mont Blanc. Other heavier types come recommended, but I didn't want to overbuy. These fit the part perfectly as they allowed me to climb up the rock face to the Gouter Hut and then add crampons and continue up the glaciers to the summit. My feet stayed warm enough with sock liners and medium socks (for someone with normally cold feet) through the snow trekking coupled with a pair of full gaiters. While heavier boots would allow thinner socks, I liked these as I felt they worked better for the non snowy portion then transitioned well to the snow.

Good All-arounder

I purchased these boots as an addition to my mountaineering gear. I wanted something lighter and more flexible than my hardcore boots that accept an auto crampon. These boots were perfect in fit and flexibility. Both my micro spikes and semi-auto crampons fit well, and they are even comfortable enough to pick up the pace into a jog. The gortex keeps my feet dry even in the snow and my feet have not been cold once.

They Are Like Butter!

When I say they are like butter - I mean the color mostly.... But these are great all around. I've worn loads of sportiva shoes over the years - Boulder X's, TX4's, TX3's, climbing shoes, etc. and they fit true to the brand. I'm a 42 in approach shoes, but bumped up to a 43 in these. Super comfortable right outta the box. Went 6 miles on them the moment I slipped them on. Haven' put crampons on them yet - but happy with everything so far. And they are yellow. Like butter.

Great Light Hiker

Pretty solid boot. Runs a little small to size and lower in volume. I love Sportiva’s typically. The only down I have is a noticeable lack in stiffness at the breaking point of the sole. The boot seems stiff enough except right at the balls of your feet/ the breaking point. It’s noticeable! Great light hiker otherwise.

Great Hiking Boots

Preparing for Mt Whitney, and wanted a lighter boot. Have taken these on several hikes with 30 lbs pack for training, these boot provided great traction and ankle mobility. Ordered a half size over my normal size, perfect for descending with pack. Typical La Sportiva thin insole needs to be replaced.

Received incentive

These Boots Are Made For Hiking.

These are beyond comfortable. Despite providing a huge amount of support, they are very comfortable, feel light and grip wet rock really well. The heel is crampon clip in compatible, which is also a bonus. If you are looking for a 3 season mountaineering boot that will be usable from trailhead to summit with nothing lost along the way, get these boots

Perfect For Summer Glaciers

I purchased this boot to climb Gannett Peak in Wyoming. I already own La Sportiva 2.0 GTX boots, which were great for Hood, Rainier, and Elbrus - where the climbing was entirely on snow. But Gannett involves a substantial hike in on bare trails, so a full-shank mountaineering boot isn't appropriate. And carrying in an extra set of boots is a non-starter. These boots were the perfect choice. Light weight and comfortable enough for rock hopping. Very water resistant (important because Gannett had lots of streams and melting snow). Stiff enough for crampons on the glaciers. You wouldn't want to use them on sheer ice (not stiff enough), but on softened snow, they are perfect. My only complaint is that they won't accommodate automatic, step in crampons because they don't have a front toe welt.
