These shoes did not require much of a break in. Sized 1/2 size smaller than my Miuras, which took a month to break in. Great edging shoes. Have only used them in the bouldering gym so far.

I've been wearing this and the previous version of Katana Laces for ~8 years and they're good for everything, except heel hooks. A few random thoughts: * Size down .5 to 1 size from old katana laces * These shoes will bleed black dye if you wash them, just fyi * Not great if you love toe hooks

Very impressed with these thus far. My feet feel stable and like they will stick to anything outside. Very comfortable on small edges. The best edging shoe I've tried to date for outdoor climbing. They also preformed well on slab and felt quite sticky. I don't like these so much for indoors.

These shoes perform well in many different styles. I found the standout to be edging. Their precision helps make them feel rock solid and they're super comfortable for how aggressive they are.

Purchased about a month back and have been climbing pretty heavily in them. Done a few four hour indoor sessions now without taking them off after they've started to break in. These things edge like no body's business. I'm a fan of the laces over velcro as I can pull the top tighter around my ankle. I've gone outdoors with these once since purchasing and they shred just as well on real rock as they do plastic.

These shoes are so comfortable and painless, I thought I got the wrong size. I ordered the same size I wear for my la sportiva solution comp and it fits like a tight comfortable glove.

I started climbing about three months ago and started off with Scarpa Helix, which I like a lot, but I quickly advanced in my technique and climbing level so I grabbed a pair of used, like-new, Miras. The Miras killed my feet and did not fit my foot well (think my foot is too narrow and it made the heel fit weird when I tightened the shoe). I returned the Miras even though I got them for 50% off and picked up a brand new pair of Katana Laces. The Miras and Helix were both 42.5 and I went down to a 41.5 in the Katanas and they feel amazing. They hurt a little the first few sessions but broke in very nicely. I can wear these for a 3-4 hour session without taking them off or loosening them. Though I haven't been climbing long (now a v3-5, 5.10-11 indoor), I find that these offer a lot of control with edging without being too aggressive. I think they are a great, versatile, all-around shoe. I wear them indoors and outdoor bouldering and also sport climbing and find that they always perform well. For me, it is all about the comfort and the fit - they fit my feet great, but maybe they won't fit yours. I have a size 10-10.5 street shoe size and an average width foot and went down to 41.5 EU for these.

This is my 5th purchase of this beautifully crafted shoe by La Sportiva. My other four pair have been resoled at least twice per pair! Just wore them out and had to purchase this newer laced version. Continue to love them and you will too!

Wow, this is a very impressive shoe. Quality and workmanship is top notch. Great look, comfort, and footing feels confident and solid. I took the advice of others and sized down one size and it was the right choice. I will be buying these shoes again and again.

I have taken these bad boys to the bouldering gym twice now. I already feel WAY more confident using my feet. Even though tight still as I am breaking them in, they are comfortable. Very happy with my purchase.

Coming from Miura Lace, this is a step up in comfort and the P3 platform feels very solid for great edging/toe strength. Only used indoors so far, but I imagine this will translate well on real rock

More comfortable than the previous version. I do wonder whether I should have sized down, but overall performance is still really good and it's nice not to have as much pain in the big toe area.

I was sceptic about the redesign at first and although I’m not the biggest fan of the aesthetic change I got used to it and the improved toe and heel box changes have definitely increased the performance of the shoe over the previous model. The toe is more precise and the heel has more rubber and fits better. I would recommend this to anyone who was a fan of the Katana Laces before the design change in Fall 2021.

This is my second pair of Katanas. They are super comfortable and great for over all climbing. A great combination of performance and comfort.

These were my dream shoe after all the research I did. Wish I tried them on before because the new heel is kinda Weird, but love it overall, love La sportiva shoes, such a step up from other companies I’ve tried. Love the stretch of the leather. I sized down a whole size and after 2 weeks the shoe fit perfect, a few blisters later
