Uncomfortable
There is a lump on the left side, bottom of the tongue that presses into the arch on the top of my foot. It becomes very painful in short order. I need to move the tongue off to the side and this helps. Also a large band aid on the top of my foot also helps. Other than that, they are comfortable.

So Far So Good
I bought these boots to wear for work— I’m a barista in a mobile coffee cart (16-foot camper) that parks in a gravel lot which is often muddy, snowy, or icy except in summer. I needed traction plus support and waterproof. My old Keen hiking boots (3-ish years old, not as many miles on them as they probably should have had) started making my feet hurt after a 5-hour shift. Being pregnant, I knew I needed something more supportive to be able to keep working. Unfortunately, it’s been too cold and snowy the past week or so to work, so I only really got to try them out for a week. But they kept me safe and comfortable and my feet didn’t hurt or feel tired and unsupported even when wearing the boots all day. I got the black because they are more trendy and versatile and I won’t be wearing them for much actual hiking. Since they’re more neutral, I even wore them to church with a dress yesterday. For reference, I’m a woman but can’t usually find boots in my size in women’s. I got a 10 based on my last pair and they fit just right.

Wonderful So Far!
I bought the Targhee IV as a replacement for my beloved Ridge Flex’s I’ve hiked and backpacked in for over 5 years plus, several sections of the Appalachian Trail, 2 Camino’s in Spain, over 2000 miles and many millions of steps plus just hiking trails in general. Unfortunately I’ve worn the treads down to nothing. The Targhees I ordered in a size 12 to give me a bit more toe room. The only addition I’ve made is to add an additional dense foam inner sole and treated them with SnoShield for the mucky wet trails. I bought them specifically for my 3rd Camino in Spain and Portugal coming up in September in which I will be walking some 600 plus miles not including the backpacking I’ll be doing beforehand . I gave them 5 stars because if they are anything like the Ridge Flex’s I have great expectations that they will be just as wonderful. I highly recommend the Targhee’s so far!
