This is a great water filter and I researched extensively before purchasing. Water tasted great, but most of my hiking is around mountain lakes and rivers. I would say there are two drawbacks. One I was aware of. It is heavier than most other water filters. The trade off is that it is bombproof. I would use it on trips where I wasn't concerned about weight or if I was concerned about the water not being as pure. I ended up purchasing the Hiker Pro for trips where I wanted to reduce weight in my pack. The other drawback that I was not aware of is that you do have to use a little more muscle to pump it. While it's not excessive, it did take me by surprise along with the flow rate. All in all I am happy with it and plan on using it again.

The filter has made dirty river water clear and drinkable. It was easy to setup and maintain.

Solid construction and longevity of the product. Works great!

Excellent kit. Heavy and expensive but bulletproof and last a really long time. I've been using these for over a decade and never had one break or fail. Not the best on thru hikes, but otherwise absolutely.

Excellent investment and product. Everyone should have one and backup filters for Backcountry use and Emergency.
