[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] All in all, one has to do something to assure clean drinking water. I have a large Sawyer system but my hiking buddies got used to me providing all the water for everyone. That was okay but they never refilled it. Problem is now solved.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] These filters are handy, light, and work well--until they don't. You will get no where near the advertised claimed use out of these. One filter typically lasts no more than 10 days/nights backpacking for my wife and me. We always filter clean water. On the positive side, the filters are small and light enough that it is easy enough to carry two, which is absolutely essential given their failure rate.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I took it kyaking and when my water bottle was empty I was able to refill it quicker than anything I've used and it's super light. Best water filter I've found so far.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] It’s been great so far this spring. Highly recommend! High flow rate - way better than sawyer squeeze. We will see how the filter handles the rest of the year but my hopes are high!

Great! I need a minimum of fifty characters. Awesome!

It’s functional and it was great to use with my 17 ounce Hydro pack. Well worth it for the multi our hikes so I didn’t need to carry all of the water I needed from the start.

Goes perfectly with hydrapak!!!! Use this system to carry water from source back to camp. The water source on ridgeline trails is hard to get to, these make refil and use a breeze with minimal weight!!!!

Simple and easy to use. Paired with my 2 liter hydrapak, it’s quickly becoming my go-to water filtration system.

Great flow, easy to use. Very pleased so far, already bought a second one for backup as it is waaaaay better than other micro filters.
The reviews of how good this is are real and while I wanted to trust them – it's 2022 and bots are a thing. 4 days in the high country doing parts of the PCH and John Muir Trail and this combined with the Hydrapak was a game changer. Just remember if it's going to be freezing at night and you want water in the morning to keep the filter/pak in the tent.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Performs like you would think. I have had my first filter for all of last year and did great on each trip. Always make sure to wash out at the end of your trip so you’ll be ready for the next one.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I carry this as a backup so I know my Katadyn BeFree will always be ready on the trail. It works the same as the original since it's identical to it, and just as reliable too. Katadyn is doing a great job in lightweight and easy-to-use filtration products.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] After using the BeFree filter system for 5 years now, it checks nearly all the boxes for my needs. Specifically, it's light weight, simple to use, supper fast (when new), it's easy to fill due to the wide mouth bottle, and the cap is secure without leaking. The only downside, and it's a big one, is it clogs and becomes very slow quickly, especially if you have to filter water with sediment. I use the BeFree for weekend trips and a few week-long trips in the Mountain West, and a new filter lasts me for about 12 nights of use on average. For a weeklong trip, I would not trust this filter to last unless it was new at the start of the trip adn you take care to avoid unclear water. This filter really shines for weekend trips - if it starts getting slow, you can likely finish out the weekend. But for week long trips, I would start with a brand new filter. If Catadyn would develop a real and effective back-flushing procedure (like the Sawyer Mini for example), it would be a great way to prolong its lifespan.

really helped out when traveling around NM filtering the tap

I have used these filters in every shape and size for the past decade. The quality of the water is unmatched in my book and I have tried a dozen or so different methods. The easy of use of this filter on the bottles, bladders etc is great. It's lower profile them other bottle top filters.
