Changed transducer to xnt 9hw t Made zero difference. Professional installed on our boat 5 months ago Fresh water, saltwater didn't matter catching fish but zero fish arches on the screen. No matter the settings custom or auto or even many redtire factory defaults Transducer suts level in water. Gps shows us 30 miles into dry land no where near water at all 100 different attempts nothing makes it work properly

Only Worked For Two Fishing Outings Then Stopped

I bought a Helix 5 two months ago. Had to wait a month to install it. It worked great for two fishing outings with my Minnkota Power Drive connected to the built in Universal Sonar. Third time out it wouldn't work. It would turn on, after several seconds instructed to press menu to start, then instructed to press exit, and it would turn off. I'd have to unplug it and wait about five minutes then plug back in and it would do the same thing. It doesn't matter if it's plugged into the US adapter or plugged in to nothing. It does the same thing every time. I'm not a happy customer but I haven't engaged Humminbird or the Bass Pro where I bought it yet either.

Accuracy for depth is perfect. Sonar works as expected. The screen clarity is really good. Responsiveness is instant. For durability my last Helix 5 lasted years before I had issues. This one is now a month old working perfect.

Pleased with this device. It is small and not super easy to read but I had to have a small device to fit on the small transom of my skiff. So it is the right size and fit for the job.

Great Product

This is the 3rd Helix 5" that I have purchased. One of the first two was a KVD edition. Caught lots of fish with those two and I'm looking forward to getting this new one on the water. Thank you Hummingbird for a dependable product for every fishing person.

Really Enjoying It

Briefly tried other fish finders, but they all failed or were disappointing. However Helix 5 is a keeper, it finds and displays ALL fish and even my lure. Very pleased with its chart plotting capabilities, the flexibility of the software, and the quality of the device as well. I wish it included charts for my country, Turkiye, however!

Ice Ducer ?

New Transducer/addition Of Di Loses Pic >15mph

With my old Humminbird transducer, I never lost my underwater view not matter how fast I was running. I have the helix 5 chirp DI with new style transducer (at least for me) and I regret purchasing the unit. The unit is of no use to me if it’s going to lose the underwater view just because I’m running over 15 mph.
