Slightly Wide To Wide Foot Persons Think Carefully

I have a slightly wide foot so purchased the Clifton 11 in a men's wide which felt good in the store. The shoe appears to be built to hold the foot in place which is normally good. For someone with slightly wide to wide feet, however, the structure of the shoe my cause pain. This appears to be due to a smaller heal than some shoes, material that is less stretchy than some shoes, and a shoe lace system that ties higher up on the foot than some shoes all of which can create painful points on the foot. I tried diligently to break the shoe in as it appears to be very well made but truthfully couldn't wait to take them off at the end of a long walk. I suggest anyone with wide feet to try the shoe on and sit in the store for several minutes as if you are driving a car or sitting at a desk. If you feel pinch points (especially at the top of your foot), they will not go away during walks or runs no matter how you might try different lacing techniques. Again, this is a well made shoe and may work for you, but it seems better suited for people with average width to narrow width feet.

I have had several pairs of Clifton’s. The Clifton 9 and 10s had the jacquard fabric that got dirty way too easily. The 11s have the knit fabric that is better. The 11s are a little more narrow than the 10s but still love them. Very comfy.
