Thoughtful Design Meets Ergonomic Comfort
I really dove headfirst into Gregory brand last year. I find their quality outstanding and their commitment to sustainability admirable. I bought the Stout 35 for my longer day hikes and overnight hiking trips. I really love how well thought out this bag is. Nothing seems gimmicky or unnecessary. All of its features are useful and thoughtfully incorporated on the bag. It’s constructed nicely with strong materials and isn’t too complicated to use. The versatility of the versa adjustment feature is a game changer. I hate hate hate when the bottom of bags (especially bags with back frames) dig into my lumbar and this feature makes sure this bag will never do that. The gut strap fits good and the hip pads are comfortable. The hip pockets are just big enough to fit my phone and a couple quick snacks or spare camera batteries. The shoulder pads are also comfortable and are ergonomically designed to not cut into my armpit. I have yet to bring it on a long hike but I’m confident it will do a good job and serve me well. The only reason I didn’t give it 5 stars is because it only had one color, which looks way more blue in the pictures than in real life. In person, it’s more of a 90s teal than blue. But the bag is so nice, the color is actually growing on me. Something to be said for that, I suppose. But I do wish it had a couple other colors to choose from like a forest green or orange. I’m just glad it’s not the uninspiring gray, black, or tan. I like hiking gear with a little color.

Poor Quality Hip Belt Pocket Zipper
I’m an avid hiker and I have a few hiking packs, one of which is the Gregory Stout 35l. Unfortunately, my zipper broke in my hip belt pocket a while back. On my recent hike, my friend mentioned that Gregory has a lifetime warranty, so I thought I’d reach out to their warranty department. I sent them a picture of the problem and they said that zippers can break, and it’s probably because my actions. But I’m a bit confused because Gregory advertises that their products have a lifetime warranty. What really upset me was the assumption that it was my fault.

Great Pack But With A Huge Flaw
WHY are the shoulder straps so short?! This is a GREAT pack, almost. All the features are good, construction is great, Sandstone is a fantastic color, and its at a great price. Lots of value for your money. EXCEPT, as some one with a Large size chest (43 inches) the straps are darn small and uncomfortable. This surprised me, considering it is a one-size-fits-all pack. But also because my Zulu 30 has better straps! I really wanted to like this one as a bag for -all day-long trails. But had to return it because is just uncomfortable on the shoulders. The belt and back padding are perfect. You guys should over two sizes like you do on the Zulu models.
