Great Product

This product is excellent well worth the price. It's breathable, comfortable and very versatile

Philmont Pack

Bought this Gregory pack for my son to take on his scouting trip to Philmont. So far so good. On a few of the prep-camp outs this pack has provided more than enough room for his immediate gear and clothes. I am confident this pack will suffice for his backpacking needs.

Comfortable bag, I like the size of the bag for backpacking. To adjust the torso length, you need to undo the velcro in the back, which sometimes hurts because it scratches my hand, but once it's adjusted to your body, you don't need to change it. The padding is comfortable on the hip belt and doesn't shift around when I'm backpacking. It's able to support 40 pounds comfortably and doesn't feel like I'm carrying that much weight.

Great Pack With Tons Of Storage Options

Pack was everything I needed for some mountain backpacking in the Pacific Northwest. The only issue is it did not come with the rain cover. Would have thought the rain cover was included at this price point.

Great Comfortable Backpack

Really feeling comfortable. Hiked up mt Hood. And spent the night. I think the water bottle holder is the best!

Great Features

I just bought this today. I have not used it yet but I like the different pockets, the way it fit me, the longer shoulder straps, and adjustable waist pads. I will write another review after I actually use it.

This sucker is a bomber. 65L is the perfect size for me and the features are exactly what I need when I'm camping. Worth it.

Built For Comfort!

Gregory continues to deliver with the Baltoro line of packs. The well thought out features and design of the waist belt and shoulder straps allow for a dialed in fit that allows all day comfort on the trail. What you give away in pack weight you gain in total comfort on the trail with a pack that can handle the heaviest loads with ease. As a bigger guy the fit of this pack helps ensure an enjoyable day on trail without the fatigue and pain points I’ve had with previous packs. If your seeking the most comfortable pack that can handle loads between 40-50lbs look no further.

Great Product!

Love this product so much it is reliable and comfortable for all trips!

Good But Could Be Better

I like this pack but it lacks internal compartments to organize and distribute the weight of your cargo for carrying long distances. It is basically one big open chamber.

One Problem.

This is the 3rd Gregory pack I have owned. Overall, I'm pretty happy with the purchase. One problem, I was about 2 miles into a 24 mile hike when the sternum strap pulled away from the slider. It was not something I could repair on the hike and made for a very uncomfortable carry. When I returned home, it was less than a 5 minute fix with the help of a set of vice grips.

Super Comfortable, But Still Room To Improve...

This is the most comfortable pack I've worn in almost 30 years of backpacking. Love the cushy fit with real padding on the hip belt and shoulder harness. If you have to carry heavier loads, the Baltoros are the way to go. The grippy silicone accents on the bottom of the lumbar area should be made standard on all Gregory packs, it helps keep the pack from sliding down really well. The Polygiene is also a game-changer for keeping that trail smell off when you get home. I like the clean design free of stitching/thread on the outside of the pack, and the Alaska Blue color is gorgeous, wish they'd offer that in all their packs. The fabric has held up well without being too heavy, though Gregory needs to stop with the hard parts of the frame at the bottom sides of the pack, covered in a heavier duty material. Though it is thicker there, mine is showing wear and will eventually fail. I see this on a lot of their models (I own 3). Other improvements should be to get rid of the fold out water bottle holder and put another stretch mesh pocket on the side (that is easy to access with pack on). Many of us don't use Nalgene for backpacking anymore, and dedicating a whole side to such a limited use pocket really kills the space. Also on that note, Gregory's stretch mesh should be a better, tighter weave. The current stuff does not inspire confidence. Access and organization on this pack are another huge plus, with plenty of space to separate things on, and still get to them. It's not the lightest pack out there, but given its capacity and how well it carries, it's actually not too bad. And you can strip it a bit without the lid and dividers to get down closer to 4 lbs, which isn't bad at all. All in all I love it, but just wish Gregory would improve those few things soon before I might need another.

Solid Travel Bag. Needs Bigger Zippers.

The pack has allot of good features to it that I love but I feel like it could use some simple tweaks to it. My zipper in the large compartment busted on the first day in France. For sure needs to have bigger zippers considering how much you are able to pack into it. Thankfully with a few YouTube videos and some tools I was able to make it work again. The storage size was nice but having a few more little small ones would be nice. Having the top flap able to disconnect quickly would be nice to make it less clumsy.

Baltoro Comfort And Function Blows My Mind

Just came out of a 6 day backpacking trip on the North Coast Trail in Vancouver Island… the Baltoro was perfect in every way. Easy to load with all my gear and supplies for the trek and we’ll balanced and comfortable for the extreme terrain. Plenty of pockets kept my gear organized, and access points were well designed and functional. Shoulder straps and hip straps provided amazing comfort and fit, while keeping the pack close to my body to make it easy navigating the mud bogs, root scampers and nearly vertical ascents and descents the trail threw at me. I look forward to using this pack for many many years.

Great Pack

This was the first time I upgraded my pack in a long time. I was looking for one with thick and comfortable waist straps, as well as had enough storage for a multi-day hike. I decided to "break it in" on a day hike, but loaded it up with weight and gear to see how it would handle. I was very pleased with the results! Handled well, stayed snug to my body and the storage compartments were perfectly placed. Other additional things that I really like were the easy access water bottle holder on the side, and the zipper "covers" to help prevent any rain/moisture from getting into the bag. Would highly recommend!
