I have two. Both work great - easy to carry and charge our cell phones as needed
Not Woke
I've owned other GoalZero products and haven't had a problem but, as I look at all of these horrible reviews (more than DOUBLE the 1s vs the 5s) I think - how/why does Goal Zero keep this on the market??

Useless used it once to charge my phone when I was in the middle of nowhere. I was so relieved to have it with me that day. I got home charged it, it has a blue blinking light, I thought it was charging. Next day my phone died again I thought no problem I have my trusty goalzero but it did not charge my phone. Came home charged it same blinking light tried it again did not charge. Useless!! waste of money

I like these batteries because which ever size you get, they work the same. I also like that there is no button to turn on accidentally.

Several years ago, I gave my family all a flip 36. We all were traveling quite a bit and they were traveling and living in a schoolie for over 7 years. The flips have been awesome! I just bought 2 more. I use them continually. Easy backup for power outage, phone charge for hiking, and for phones, lights, waggle, and fans in my 71 VW Bus. They are small enough, and I can easily recharge via my larger goal zeros. I appreciate and recommend them!

I've had this product for less than 2 years and now it won't charge.

I bought it a year ago. Used twice and now it does not take charge.

Its faulty - one blue light blinking and doesnt take a charge.

Absolutely terrible charging design. Forget even trying to plug this thing directly to an AC adaptor. Get a USB extender, and find something that is just the right elevation so that the Flipout is exactly horizontal with the extender attached to the ac adaptor. that is the only way this thing will charge. If you even bump it slightly, it will stop charging. I wish i could just return this thing but i got it as a gift, so i just have to make it work.

My first one lasted for about 4 trips until the charging USB broke off. Just bought a second one and now on my second time out the blue light blinks but it won’t charge. The owners manual is of no use.
Goal Zero Flip 36 = Bad
The Goal Zero Flip 36 is the worst electronic product I have purchased, but I guess you get what you pay for? I am just disappointed because it never worked the way you advertised. I took great care of it and it just stopped working within 6 months of use. It never seemed to recharge my iPhone “up to 3 times” lucky if I got 1 full charge and now the unit itself won’t even recharge. Not to mention, the fold-out usb port is a terrible design - very weak and just waiting to break. Now that I’m looking for a more heavy duty portable charger, how could I even entertain Goal Zero after such an experience with their entry level product never performing to how it’s advertised? Did I get a defective unit?

These are great. I loaded up with several and the little docking port. They are powered up and ready to go all the time.

Charging port (flip) breaks. Not immediately but shortly after 1 year warranty runs out. Tons of better bank chargers for less money that last much longer.
