This is a really really good axe, the edge is sharp out of the box, and its weight and lenght make it the perfect forestry axe. At first you might say that its pretty expensive for what it is, but the material is really high quality for a plastic.

It's a beautiful and powerful looking (and at 4.5 pounds, powerful FEELING) axe...but the problems began the first time I used it. Maybe 4 or 5 good swings in, the "storage" piece that fits inside the handle broke and partially fell off. A few swings later, the handle piece popped itself out all on its own. The axe head is decent (why it gets any stars), but the handle material is flexing enough under the blows that I'm worried it will soon start to crack - or crack entirely upon impact, which is a dangerous-enough game to leave this collecting dust indefinitely.

My fiancé loves us however he forgot to take a picture for me, but he said it worked exactly how it’s supposed to perform well & durable. It came with safety cover as well.

Value, fit, Finnish, functionally flawless. Been splitting, chopping and feathering sticks it’s just works. Nice sheath. Heavier than expected. Arrived butter knife sharp. Sharpening was quick. My go to ax. My truck ax. Camping, fishing and hunting go to.

Great camping axe! Excellent splitter and hammer. The weight is easy to swing for cutting logs and the head is thick enough to split them easily, too. The hammer head comes in handy for driving wall tent stakes and miscellaneous tasks around camp.

As always Gerber products are manufactured in high quality. Good looks as well as very functional. Nice to be able to hide some fire starters in the handle.

Don’t let the fact that this review is part of a promotional exchange mislead you—there’s genuinely nothing bad to say about this axe! I was absolutely thrilled when I saw the offer and immediately signed up for it. My husband is always very particular about his choices—he never skimps on anything he plans to use. When he saw this axe, he was so excited and couldn’t wait to use it) It fits perfectly into his set of tools, and now preparing firewood for the winter season is so much easier. You can always tell when something is well-made—from the design and materials to the sheer pleasure of using it. The set includes a convenient blade cover, and there’s also a compartment in the handle for storing a lighter or matches (fire-starting tools). There’s a rope attached, and it’s great that it’s waterproof. The axe is quite heavy, but the weight is perfectly balanced, exactly where it should be. The handle is rubberized, ensuring a firm grip and preventing slipping. All in all, my husband gives it his highest recommendation, and respect to the Gerber brand!

This is an efficient axe to keep around and I've found it extremely useful for outdoor tasks. I will also take this camping if I know I will be needing firewood. The weight is evenly distributed throughout the entire axe, which helps reduce fatigue while increasing efficiency of your cuts. Nice sharp blade with a thick durable cover for protection when not in use. The long handle means it's obviously not compact in length, but it feels very ergonomic to hold and allows for deeper cuts at a variety of angles. I believe this will hold up excellent and would recommend it to others.

Though I haven’t been able to try this axe in the field, I expect nothing but awesome results. The versatility of it with the added storage compartments is going to be a game changer. It comes with a cover that is heavy duty, and it’s got a longer handle which will be great for chopping up some firewood. Really stoked to try this soon! Thank you Influenster and gerber!

We were so excited to receive this Gerber Bushcraft Axe. We like to go camping and this axe is great for chopping down limbs for various uses. The Gerber Bushcraft Axe Is great! After lots of use there isn’t much wear and tear at all besides from the small scuffs on the blade. It is great at chopping firewood and the storage in the handle is great for storing things like fire starters. All in all its a very useful axe and I love it.
