It’s Okay… Read My Review.

What I like: 1. the face and numbers appear larger and that is great, so I can see better since I don’t workout with my reading glasses. 2. I like all the new graphics and the battery is great vs my Garmin that had basically only 1 day or charge on it. What I’m not super happy about: 1. It won’t broadcast my HR to machines in gym while using the Virtual run option like my old Garmin did seamlessly. No matter what I try. 2. Somehow my battery % keeps “disappearing” from my watch face option even though I keep adding it back 3. During a swim it miscounts laps and sometimes it shows 0 yardage for lap BUT it’s correctly counted in the total 5. I wish button sounds weren’t so wimpy and I could hear them better like in old Garmin 6. I wish, DESPITE HAVING AUTO SCROLL OFF, it DIDN’T Autoscorll through screens while I was swimming laps - it’s annoying. Overall a nice watch but MAYBE I HAVE A LEMON AND NEED A REPLACEMENT. SINCE I SEEM YO HAVE SO MANY ISSUES.

Upgrade From 955

I got this 2 weeks ago as a replacement for my 955. All in all it is a much better experience. The battery is much improved and the coloured display is easier to use. The menus are the same...navigation could be a bit more intuitive, but once you learned them you are OK. I use it everyday for runs and strength training and it does the job.

Screen Scratches Very Easily

Not sure what the screen is supposed to be made of but it scratches if you look at it. Very flimsy, scratched all up within a week. My fenix 6 that I write for years, not 1 scratch on it.

Great Features And Battery Life

I bought this a month ago and it’s a game changer for tracking of course activity and helping me train, but exceptional for tracking recovery!

Great Performance And Features

I am really happy with this watch. It's definitely a full featured premium running watch.

Excellent As Expected, But With Room To Improve

As expected, 965 is outstanding for running and sleep tracker is excellent. The watch is comfortable and the extended battery life is also superb. Some of the ancillary apps do not meet this high bar, however. Eg: Ice Hockey indoor does not deliver more valuable tracking information that calories burned and time active. Weight training ux is also a little clunky. I'm very happy with my purchase and expected everyone else will too - I just hope some of the apps will receive additional updates to ux and capabilities to better align with the top-tier quality of its run and sleep tracking.

Worth It.

I upgraded from my 935 to this 965 and it is a world of difference in every way. In a good way. More features and a lot of updated information.

From A Former 645 Owner

I wore a Garmin 645 music for 6+ years every day before it eventually broke and I upgraded. Some thoughts: All of the basics work as expected. Running activities, GPS, cycling, heart rate, sleep score, music playback, etc. I have not set up Garmin Pay but expect that it works given how easily the other features work. Things like GPS and elevation seem to be much better than my 645. Coming from the 645, I was fearful of the touch screen. It was not clear to me that the touch screen is completely optional and all actions can be completed using the buttons. There is also a setting to turn off the touch screen during activities. That said, I have found that it can be nice to use at times and see it as a surprising net positive. The display is clear and sharp, although I miss the MIP always on display. I prefer battery life to leaving this AMOLED screen always on, and it can be slightly annoying to flick my wrist to turn the screen on when I want to see it. I wish Garmin would bring back a cheaper MIP display watch that is as fashionable/passing as the forerunner. That said, the battery life has been so good that always on would be fine. Flashlight feature is a very useful feature. I appreciate the metal bezel, it looks nice. I have heard that the watch can scratch easily, but I have not experienced that so far. Overall I am very happy with my watch. Up to you if you think the premium features (namely metal bezel for me) warrant the additional price. I intent to wear this every instant until it dies.

Great Watch.

This is my second Garmin 965. As a triathlete, it does everything I want plus more. Great watch. Highly recommend

Doesn’t Support Multisport Training

I bought it because i thought, it will allow to prepare a training for multiple sports in the app and send it to my watch. But it doesn’t support multi sport training. So you program each training segments separately

Limited Data Fields

Purchased the Forerunner 965 to replace the 920XT. The watch is used for running and cycling. Very disappointed the "average moving speed" data field is not available for my customized data screens while it was available on the 920XT. Average speed was set as the data field, and I thought my I can't be this slow and I was right. Bring back "average moving speed" as an available data field with the 965.

The barometer doesn't work. It effects many things,

Returning Watch - Too Many Issues To Resolve

I am returning this watch due to several issues. 1) getting a map file error every time I sync. I went through the recommended steps to fix this, but nothing worked; 2) Open Water Swims are tracking much shorter than with my old 945; 3) TSS and IF are not calculating correctly when syncing to Training Peaks. Too many issues to try to fix - going back to my 945 for now.

Nice

Got it two days ago. No idea of what it can or will do

I’d Be Lost Without It !

Love my Forerunner 965. Feel naked without it. Depend on feedback it gives me for my runs and swims , sleep metrics , daily steps, heart rate etc.
