    Quality Product!

I have run my new EchoMap for about 12 hours now and it has already proven to be a huge benefit to my operation of the boat. Outstanding charting, depth sounding and presentation spot on, I couldn’t be happier with this product. I appreciate my EchoMap and all its capabilities. Thank you, Garmin!

    Black gold

Would like it better if it would give more shallow depth readings. This is a small unit for a small boat that goes in shallow water but not useful because of the lack of depth readings

    Excellent Little Unit

Aside from the screen size, I think this is a very high-quality unit. As an electrical and RF engineer, the resolution and build quality appears excellent. The menu system is logically laid out and easy to learn. The ability to update firmware and maps is also extremely easy. I would’ve preferred the unit to accept larger microSD cards as well as those formatted NTFS.

    Useful

I have used this on 2 boating trips so far. It appears to be very accurate and useful when navigating unfamiliar waters.

    No Ais

This model does NOT support AIS from the VHF. do not buy it. The difference in the model name was not identified at the time of sale. I bought it from the Garmin website.

Three Strikes And You Are Out

I bought this unit about 3 years ago. This is the third one. Two were returned and have been replaced. If this one fails like the others did I will request a full refund.

    Fatty

Very difficult to pair with I phone app & impossible to connect with WiFi . Seems as though the device has a lot of useful applications but not user friendly if you’re a novice .

Good Product But Missing Important Part

I like the Echomap UHD2, however the cover did not come with the unit and that does Not make sense - how else are you suppose to protect it???????

Great Mapping, Fish Finder Was Also Great

I bought this a few weeks back, was finally able to try this out yesterday, everything worked great. love this unit, wish I had more room for a larger screen

    Good For What It Is.

It seems good for basic unit, i.e. for what it is -but has no options for upgrading transducer or interfacing it to engine info, etc. , I had a difficult time selecting this as an upgrade to a garmin striker that is just a fishfinder- yes you get a chartplotter which was my main need but anything better (other than buying additional charts) will require another full swap as this has no options. My last small Chartplotter fishfinder was like 13yrs ago w a Lowrance Elite 5. That one also had Chirp tech and was about as thick, etc- the display tech on this IS better, but start up speed, thickness, etc are similar and I would have thought that by now they would be thinner and faster startup so somewhat disappointed- I think most competition is all the same so just think all of them are lagging other tech,- so it may be as good as they get, but think they could do better. (think about how much better smartphones are after 13 yrs)

    Here Fishy

I really love this thing. I haven’t had a good new fishfinder in about 10 years and this one is over the top

    Needs Blue Chart G3

I thought it would be an improvement over the last one I had, which had blue chart g3. It is not an improvement in this aspect and is now very cumbersome and frustrating to use.

    Waffles

To be honest I’m really not a fan. I do not feel the sonar is telling that fish are really there . But it’s what came with the boat. So I did not expect much. I’m getting ready to upgrade now to a much better machine with either side view or forward facing. Maybe even both, but I’m not sure if that’s in my budget. I have used Garmin products before, and my new machine might end up being another garmin . So many out there to choose from! It’s kind of confusing!

    Feature Request

While the unit is working well, here are a couple of improvements that I'd love to see. - WIFI connectivity to the boat network's existing network. - Allow the Chartplotter to download satellite information from the network to allow rapid location synchronization. (We use the chartplotter on our tender, and due to the significant distance between uses, the GPS sync currently takes a very long time)

Difficulties Setting Up Your Product - Sd Cards

I purchased this item and experienced tremendous problems getting it set up. A great example of this is the SD card. Apparently this SD card doesn’t come with the item when purchased which is extremely confusing and make it very difficult it use your products
