Trousers suitable for the last trousers that outdoor men aim for 32 x 32 was the best size for a height of 170 cm and a weight of 65 kg. From now on, I want to grow my own pants

Bought these for upland & rabbit hunting, needed something to walk thru tough briars and wet tall grass. Had a pair 25 years ago that eventually wore out. These are similar quality to my previous pair and I’m pleased with the fit (true to size), pockets are deep enough and have flaps on both back pockets but No button closure. Wide belt loops accommodate thick wide heavy belts and 1 3/4” easily slides in. Suspender buttons are metal and on exterior of waistband vs inside. Wearing suspenders allows you to wear these pants looser and therefore better ventilation - especially during high exertion. The Double face fronts only extend just below knee, below that is single ply as is the back - which is plenty of protection while still allowing ease of movement and lighter weight. They are highly water “resistant” and likely water proof when new. Great for hunting in cool weather (45-55 degrees) without long johns, any colder and long John’s needed because the waxed cotton material becomes stiff and transfers cold like wearing “steel” pants, When moving and active during Warmer temps (above 60) you’ll sweat and build up condensation - like wearing plastic bags. These pants are Great but for limited applications - moving thru heavy brush & briars during cool to cold weather and especially when conditions are wet. These pants are not good for warm weather hunting (65+ degrees) they are also Not quiet when walking so not good for stalking or most bow hunting. They are expensive and don’t do much that carhartts won’t do for 1/3 the price - although they shed water much better and might be more abrasion resistant. I am pleased with their performance and they are right for what I plan on doing in them. 4 Stars because they have some limitations (not good in warmer weather)

Bought these for fall yard cleaning and some chainsaw work. I bought a 33x32, even though I'm typically a 32 waist as I wanted more mobility and room for tucking in layers. It was the right move. I would say wearing a baselayer of some kind under these is a MUST - it would feel godawful to have cold oily heavy cotton on your skin throughout a cold day. They seem pretty darn tough and thick, but you can tell from the stitching that these are not made in the same way the older ones were (which had flat felled stitching throughout). So while it's nice that these are less expensive than the US made ones, I would've paid up for improved durability. Pro tip: use suspenders with these and you'll be happy as a clam. -Gnarly Ratsack
