For me this smaller pack is perfect for inbounds and side country skiing. It is very sturdy, lightweight and simple with no exterior straps, loops or cords to get hung up on chairlifts. Most of the time when skiing I don't even know that I have it on. Good pack.

I bought this for a friend and she absolutely loves it. It’s just the right size for food, water, raincoat and first aid kit with plenty of room to spare

I have used this pack for hiking and work. I like how light and simple it is (obviously, those two traits are correlated). It consists of one small top zip pocket, one large compartment, a laptop sleeve, and two side stretchy water bottle pockets. The side pocket easily fits a 20oz water bottle, but you can also slide a standard sized 32oz Nalgene into there - it's possible after years of using it that way that it may stretch out too much, but right now the pocket bounces back. The top pocket can fit keys, chapstick, hand sanitizer, my sunglasses in a soft pouch, and a "small" smartphone (iPhone 13 mini) - but is definitely stuffed to the brim. If you fill this pocket up, it does cover the top of the laptop sleeve, so I have to flip it up out of the way, but not a big hassle. The downside to the simplicity/light weight is the lack of additional divisions of space. For hiking, in addition to food and first aid kit bags, I also added threw my battery pack in a ziploc bag. For work/travel, I ended up using a zippered pouch that fits my laptop charger, phone charger, earbuds, pen, and pencil. The unisex fit was good enough for me and the pack fit my 17.5" torso fine (the chest strap can be adjusted up and down). The Speed Lite 17 and 21 do not have a Women's Version - I tried the Speed Lite 23 Women's Fit, but it was too big for a day pack.

This is a great little pack for a day trip, or going to the beach. its super low profile and light, but packs more than you would think. enough space for a beach towel and some accessories. The material and build quality seems solid.

The Speed Lite 17 is a great lightweight backpack for hiking or day trips. The pack is light and the straps are ventilated and comfortable. The back of the pack is ventilated as well to make it more comfortable. It has a zippered pocket in the back where you can keep your wallet and keys close to you while wearing it. There is a first aid tag inside the bag to offer reminders of what to do in an emergency. The two-tone color is nice because the darker bottom won't show dirt if the pack is placed on the ground. There if plenty of room for a hoodie (which I took with me even in this heat) and a book, charger, and lunch bag as well as water bottle pockets outside. It is a well designed item.

This is a great backpack. Not only will it be great for hiking but for when I go bicycling as well. It is very roomy yet small in size. I can't wait to use even more! I would definitely recommend it to anyone !

The Speed Lit backpack is my new favorite pack to take on a hike or even a day out with the kids. Upon first feel you can tell it's built with quality material that won't tear after a few (or many) uses. It's got the two straps which hook on your shoulders, and the straps and back have a good amount of cushion to take the stress off your body. The overall pack is about 18 x 11 inches, so in the middle not too big and not too small category. The main compartment has a divider which can be used to keep things organized better. It also has two side pockets which are a good size for water bottles. The pack I got is a grayish blue with black, and I probably couldn't ask for a better complimenting color pattern. Great backpack that I plan to have for a long time.

I love backpacks so I was excited to receive this one. I like the colors on it and how lite it feels. I use it for classes and for my daily walks. I keep my walking accessories in it like my fan and water bottle

A very durable and lightweight backpack that carries a lot of items. Great for hiking or maybe even use it for a child when going to school because it is really lightweight. Its straps are easy to put over my arms and it fits so nicely on my back.

I love this little backpack. It is so light and comfortable to wear. It holds a lot more than I anticipated. I would get the next size bigger if I bought it again, but this one is still great. I don't do a lot of day hiking anymore, but this is really good for traveling. I can carry all my electronics and anything needed while flying. The little pocket on top is great to hold your phone, wallet and/or keys.

I just recently got this Deuter Speed lite 17 backpack and absolutely love it. Its super lightweight and it’s great for hiking or riding on my bike. It has everything you need in the bag for outdoor activities. I will definitely buy a one more for my son too. If you like to be outdoors this is a great backpack to have!

Love the colors. It’s nice and light as expected. It has plenty of space and nice deep side pockets on the front which is great especially when moving around. It can easily accommodate 2 larger water bottles.
