I was excited to have an Allpa as a personal item that would fit under my airplane seat. Once I got this packed, I realized it was much too big to be compliant. It measures 20 x 14 x 9 when loosely packed. Reading the reviews, it sounds like it does fit under seats for a lot of folks, but best case it’s going to stick out which takes up precious leg room, and worst case it could result in having to check one of your bags. Equally irritating is that it doesn’t have a key clip in the front pocket. Why would this not be a standard feature for all of the bags? It’s on the 35 and the 42. What possible logic says that people needing a smaller bag wouldn’t also have keys to clip? It seems like a good bag otherwise, so I will give three stars, but I will most likely be returning it as it doesn’t fit my needs.

The allpa 28L travel backpack is really nicely designed in both style and color. When I first saw it, I immediately fell in love with it. When I started using it, the love only grew stronger. I highly recommend it. Cotopaxi got itself a new loyal customer.

Needed a backpack that could be overflow for our carrry on luggage for a 8 night trip to Italy. It was important to just have carryons as ladies traveling around Italy we needed luggage to be manageable. We also did a LOT of shopping. The 28l was the perfect size - large enough to efficiently pack all the extra shopping we did without having to check bags. It fits nicely under the seat infront but best when it’s not completely packed as on our return trip! I loved the packing cube style sections that made it efficient to pack clothes directly in there and keep everything organized. For items I needed access to on the plane, inside the bag,it’s also very easy if you just have the zippers at the top. People in other reviews say that they had to open the entire bag to access but you don’t if u just put zippers to the top. The water bottle holder is deep and feels sturdy/premium quality so hoping it’ll last a long time. Easily fits a 24oz bottle. I didn’t want to travel with any larger Overall the construction and materials feel high end that hopefully it lasts for many years to come. I was hesitant spending so much on ‘just a backpack’ but I was glad I did after using it. It was really great. Kept seeing people with Cotopaxi bags all over.

I have been looking for a better bag to travel with as my personal item. I wanted something more durable and larger so I could pack as much as possible in it. This bag is great for that.

I have owned a bunch of backpacks. I travel, hike and bop around town with a lot of them. This pack is a go to every time. Perfect personal bag on flights, and a great towny. Got caught in the rain while visiting Japan and all the things stayed dry inside. Comfy straps for all day wear. I was collecting a bunch of maps and little stamp books and they all fit perfectly into the laptop sleeve for protection. One downside would be that when fully loaded the heavy stuff makes its way to the bottom. Not a huge problem but you can pack it accordingly.

I’m 5’3” 110 lbs and this pack didn’t fit my frame. The shoulder straps were too thick and rode high digging into my neck, and the waist strap hit at an odd place not distributing support well. The smaller packs were all top loaders so not great for urban travel and served better as daypacks. I appreciate what Cotopaxi is doing but I had to move on. There was another petite woman sharing my experience when I was making my return. Hopefully there’s an opportunity for new designs to fill this gap and I can circle back another time.

I won’t officially use it for travel until next month, but I’ve already tried it out at home. Packed 4 days worth of clothes and a tablet since we’re already getting summer temps at home. I think I can pack a little more into it if I tried. I packed t-shirts, shorts, underwear, socks, 2 slacks, 2 polo shirts, & a dop kit. I will update after I actually take it on a trip.
