Run Way Small

I wear a 2 or a 4. I bought a 4 based on reviews. I couldn't even get them past my hips because they were sewn above the bottom of the zipper. After releasing that tie I got them up but I was 4 inches from even snapping them. Pretty sure even a 6 wouldn't fit. Going back!

Minor Issues, Overall Great Pant!

I like these pants a lot and have had several pairs, however most recent purchase of two pairs fit tighter than my previous pairs. I still wear the old ones, so I don’t know if they have stretched over the years or the sizing is a bit different now. The one other problem I have with these are the pockets. Like so many women’s clothing the pockets aren’t sufficient. Even just a tube of chapstick is liable to fall out of the two slash pockets. The little thigh zip pocket is where I put things like a key fob and chapstick. Back pocket is big enough for my phone. It would just be nice if the two pockets where you put your hands were deeper. However, despite the few issues as above, these are one of my favorite pants. They hold up to everything, even construction! I wore my first 3 pairs almost daily through a major renovation at my house for over a year and while they look rougher, they are still intact and wearable. I still wear them hiking several years later.

Love These Pants!

Awesome pants! Like the roll up legs and number of pockets. Very comfortable but run small. Ordered 18W long, but usually wear 16W. Looking forward to wearing these for hiking.

Almost Perfect!

I bought these to wear on a trip to Alaska. They are well made, comfortable in cooler or warmer weather, perfect for walking, touring, on a boat or at dinner. I want to give them 5 stars, but the front pockets are terrible. Let me explain- the pockets are deep enough to put your hands in, but not deep enough to keep small items in. There's very little "lip" at the side seam, which means that when you sit down, your Chapstick, keys, and small Swiss Army knife just slide right out onto the seat. You can forget about keeping your phone in there. I had to keep my coins and small things in the zippered thigh pocket which is not very big. If they redesigned these to have better front pockets, I would buy multiple pairs in all the colors, that's how comfy they are.

No Stretch In Waist

I wanted to love these pants. I am plus size petite and it is so hard finding pants that fit. The pants are stretchy except for the waist! Why?? The legs and booty were too big but the waist was ok. If I size down the waist will be too small but the legs and booty would be ok. Why being plus size would there be no give to the waist?? Just makes no sense to me. I will be returning these, unfortunately. I wish they would make waist bands as stretchy as the legs and rest of the pants. Just some type of stretch. Also, I am 5'2 (almost) and they are still a little long but acceptable if they had fit elsewhere. The button was broken also when I got them so that doesn't scream quality.

Run Very Small.

Not cool Columbia how you changed sizes. I have gained weight thanks to health issues. I ordered the same Sat pants as my favorite old pair, size 16. Plus size 18 was too small. When I pulled out my old pair - they are almost the same size!! The material is also very different, with no stretch at all and way too thick for summer hiking pants. Fat girls like to hike too, fix your sizing!!

Runs Very Small!!

Very disappointing with these pants. They run about two sizes small and now the size I need is out of stock. I don’t know how a company like Columbia that been around as long as they have can get the using so far off.

Versatility For Travel!

I bought these for a trip to Europe where some of the places we visited were warm and other were in the Alps and cold. It was great to pack one item that fit both types of weather. They also wash and dry great when you don't have access to a washer/dryer.

Comfortable But Not Well Made

I bought these in May. The weather is only now chilly enough to wear them. Second day wearing them (at an office job). The stitching at one of the pockets is coming undone.

Great Features And Fit, But Stretch Out Too Much

I like the fit (at least when I first put them on), and the features of these pants. However, after wearing them, the waist stretches out over the course of the day and by the end of the day the pants have fallen down on my hips. Washing them will return them to the original shape, but there's no way to avoid the stretching. I don't care that the legs get baggy, but the the waist should stay in place. I contacted the manufacturer in the hopes of getting a size smaller that would be wearable, but they denied the request and said that there was no defect in the construction.

Too Low Waisted

I’ve been looking for a convertible pant to hike in. These however were too low waisted for me. I ended up returning them. They also run very small!! Size up at least one.

Way To Small

I have other Columbia pants in the same size. These run about 4" too narrow in the waist! Returning them.

Decorative But Not Functional

I bought these for in-stream field work. The fit was more or less okay, though I was worried that they wouldn't hold up to heavy use. That turned out not to be a problem though, because the design of the pockets made them absolutely unusable! Of the things I need to carry every day, only my key fob or chapstick would fit into the front pockets UNTIL YOU TRY TO SIT DOWN. At which point they fall out. The zip pocket was too small for my phone or my billfold, and trying to carry the phone in a back pocket works, again, only until you attempt to sit down. On the other hand, the Columbia Quick dry pants I bought in the men's style can fit a 750 ml water bottle in the front pocket. Make of that what you will.
