They're super comfortable and not heavy. They seem waterproof . My only complaint is when driving they hurt my ankle. They're just a little tall. But overall seem great.

This is my third pair of these boots. I live in the Pacific Northwest and having dry feet is important to me. The waterproofing is excellent! The boots are warm and comfortable. I hike three miles every morning and the boots are durable. I love the thick laces that last a long time. In short, I love these boots!

Have had these for maybe a year, use occasionally since I also use two other pairs These are not one bit waterproof, never have been. However they are very comfortable and strong, are not getting banged up and scratched on the trail

I bought these boots for a 2 week trip to Shetland (islands between Scotland and Norway) and they were the heroes of the day. We walked and hiked every single day through boggy fields and along cliff edges. I felt like a mountain sheep in these boots! They kept my feet dry even in the wettest of locations (it rained a LOT!) and they were so lightweight, but the soles kept me solid. Now my husband wants a pair! Thanks Columbia!

The Newton Ridge waterproof hiking boot fits true to size and doesn't need any "breaking in". It is comfortable right out of the start gate. Looks nice, rugged and keeps your feet dry.

Comfortable and lightweight, well made. Good choice of colors.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I got these for a big hiking trip to the Faroe Islands in Iceland. They kept my feet dry through rain and creek crossings. Ankle support is great. I use an orthotic insert and the wide fit didn’t look huge on my feet. If I had to criticize, I wish they were a little more padded on the bottom.

I have two pairs of these boots. They are waterproof on the toe, until the water touches the top of the tongue. The boot tongue is a padded tongue, which acts as a sponge and holds all the water/dew you are walking thru. Once the sponge tongue fills up, it squishes water inside the boot. Buy a pair of Crispi Boots if you truly want a waterproof hiking boot. If Columbia made the tongue leather and sewed it to the boot sides, it would be waterproof, but that is extra. Buy the Crispi boots, they do the extra. I wear my Crispi boots in the meadow and hunting, feet warm and dry. Everytime I wear my Columbia boots, my feet are wet.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought these for an 11-day hiking trip in Norway because my Merrill’s can be heavy. Well, I never wore my Merrill’s (autocorrect keeps changing spelling) because these were exceptional. The hikes were 10 miles long on rugged and varied terrain - through mud and streams - I never got wet. The only thing I changed was adding an insole for my delicate feet and high arches. I did five miles to test them and the cushioning wasn’t enough for me. Anyway - great boot - no slipping, good traction, no twisted ankles.

Uncomfortable and feels like it’s made of cardboard. No cushion/padding whatsoever

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have been using these boots for my five + mile walks several times a week for three and a half years, and they've performed perfectly. Each pair lasts for at least six months. The fit is great and they're very comfortable and sturdy. I have to wear supportive boots or my feet and joints will start to hurt, but with these boots I don't have to worry. I'm extremely happy with them.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] These are by far my favorite hiking boots. They didn't need a break-in period-they were comfortable from the very first wear. I have foot problems from years of running, so it's rare for shoes to feel this good, but these exceeded my expectations. They also have excellent traction. I highly recommend them!

I love these hiking boots. They are comfortable, attractive (love the red laces!) and waterproof. To me they are more comfortable than sneakers for walking the dog I sit for. May buy them in another color! Oh, i forgot to mention the great ankle support!
