Great Layering Options

Got this for a ski trip and it was perfect. One day started out at 5 degrees and climbed to 35 degrees and the coat was comfortable in both extremes with only a long sleeve tee shirt under.

Great Coat

Awesome coat! Plenty of insulation; easy to adjust at the waist, sleeves, and cuffs; and the hood. Plenty warm! The color in real life is a smidge different than online - it's more "textured" black versus "straight" black. The texture gives it a little more pop.

Outstanding

Great jacket. Super warm. I love the 3-in-1 system. Columbia runs big for me. I am normally an XL but a L fit just fine.

Almost Perfect

Im in my second year with this jacket and it functions exactly as proclaimed. I wear it as just the inner shell alone, the outer shell alone, or together as the weather demands. It's a very high quality coat. I even use it as an offshore coat on my boat, BUT, and it's a big but, the zipper too easily overrides the seam fabric, especially as you pull it past chest high where the neck flaps draw together. It jams so hard that the only way to release it is to take the coat off over your head and really work the zipper loose. I'd rate it 5 stars but for that.

Good 2 In 1 For Budget

I tend to go through ski jackets and shell very fast, the quality of this jacket is very good and the shell is as good quality (imho) some of the more expensive brands. Definitely a little bigger on the sizes though.

Bought this for my first ever ski trip. Worked perfectly and kept me warm the whole time. It also stayed dry despite it snowing and was even able to handle multiple falls

Review Of Rockfall Ii In Cypress Camo; Columbia Is Superb In Quality!

"model" is 5'7", 183lbs. As you can see, the large was quite poofy and oversized. I order and wear large items in most coats and shirts due to being more mesoporph. The medium in this jacket fits perfect. Sleeves are perfect length (I have longer arms, shorter torso). Quality of the jacket in Omni-heat is fantastic. Cold German bike commuting every single day from single digits to freezing rain; very repellent and wind resistant. Fabric is much tougher than some of the down coats and "sweaters" out there. Not quite as compressible of a jacket, but I prefer a tougher shell than something that rips easily. Oh, and I took a hard bike wreck, broke a helmet, tore both gloves and nothing happend to the coat. I would prefer inside pockets (there are none) but I can deal with it.

Not Good As They Used To Be

This coat has really cheap zippers and the snaps that hold liner to outer jacket are broken. This also seems to run small, I normally wear size 6 womens. I got a mens because the sleeves are longer and this one the body length was also longer. The fit around the hips seems right compared to a different size m mens columbia jacket with a liner also. I had a womens columbia coat and that one has a much better zipper and seems to be made better.

Excellent Performance Both On And Off The Mountain.

The jacket is fantastic. Flexible when skiing, keeps me warm. Enough pockets. Being able take out a layer on warmer days is ideal. I can also add a layer underneath without feeling pinched. The 3 in 1 gives me a jacket I can use at least half the year in Phoenix. According to the size chart I should take a medium. The medium was tight so I had to size up to a large, which fits fine without being baggy. I am 5”8 155, 40” chest.

Very Warm, Light, Wind And Waterproof. Great Jacket!

I rarely write reviews, but this jacket is incredible! I walk my dogs twice a day in all weather in Idaho. The inner jacket alone keeps me warm to about -5 degrees F. I only use the outer jacket if it is snowing or colder. It's kept me warm to -20. I haven't been out in colder weather. Lightweight and comfortable for this amount of warmth. Keeps the snow off me as well. I've been wearing it for a year, and it still looks great. I'm cheap, and this is well worth the money. The zipper could be better quality, but it has held up fine for a year.

Not Very Warm

The style of this jacket is great but one time outside realized it wasn’t warm enough.

Many +'S One Big -

First the good. Love the style, and the fit is great for me. The 3 in one is something I choose to never live without, as I am constantly using one of the 3, and this is my third 3 in one Zippered underarm vents help when I am doing something vigorous, like cross country skiing, and I like the pockets. The print design is awesome and makes me look 10+ years younger. The bad is the durability of the waterproofing of the Omni-Tech outer jacket. Waterproof/breathable fabrics require an outermost layer with a water shedding material with a high surface energy (yes I am a scientist ...) that will cause liquid water to bead up and roll off the jacket. Over time this layer will get worn and contaminated with lower surface energy molecules that will cause the water to wick into the jacket and lose its waterproofing. The jacket can be restored with cleaners and waxes such as NIKWAX tech wash. When I purchased the jacket, I noticed that water wasn't beading as much as I thought it should. Despite keeping the jacket as clean as possible, after only half a season it is starting to wick water and lose its waterproofing. I haven't been drenched yet after wearing it in the Portland rain, but that day is coming soon. I found the 2 other Columbia jackets I had lost their waterproofing after 2 years. I expect this one to last 1.

This Is A Great Jacket

I bought the red Jacket. The white zipper and the grey around the neck are the only non-red items. So I wanted the white zipper. All other jackets are truly one color. The pockets are huge. Needed for skiing. Because of the inner and outer jacket, you have two-three layers of pockets. i.e., a lot. All pockets are big, even the breast pocket (outer layer only) The two layers of jackets make the outer layer by itself run a bit big. But not too bad. I have skied half my days in the outer layer only. Breaks the wind and keeps out the moisture great. The attached hood is not my favorite. I would like it detachable. However, there is a velcro strap on the hood and by carefully folding the hood and using the velcro strip and the coats hook string, you can make it into an near invisible (normal) collar. I bought it later in the season and for those reduced prices it is very good value for money. The cloth looks nice and nonplasticy (not like a rain jacket). But I had no problems with the outer shell being water proof despite having a couple of snow days and falling into the deep snow
