I am not a pro hiker by any means, the type of hiking I do is usually 10k-ish so I will talk about my perspective and experience. For these type of hikes, the shirt is super comfortable. I have very light skin so I like wearing long sleeve to reduce the quantity of sunscreen I put on. It protects me perfectly from the UV rays and everything else this activity includes (wind, bugs, small branches, etc). And it also keeps me fresh and comfortable during my hikes. Not sure for longer ones, but I am sure the result would be pretty similar. Fully recommended. I normally wear L for shirts and L on this one fits just right.
