I have been wearing the Silver Ridge short for over 20 years and I love them. However, I am now having a hard time finding the 12" length. That is what I want.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] LIke others the rear pockets of 3 shorts I purchased, 2 at one time. One on another time. The stiching has frayed and come apart. I realized one when my wallet fell out. I thought I missed the pocket. Then I realized it went through. I am putting in for warranty claim. But it appears this is the norm than the exception, from other reviews. I have similar shorts from major box stores that have lasted years and haven't had issues. Very disapointed.
I Like Shorts
These shorts have a LOT going for them: the sizing is accurate, and fit is perfect, not too tight, not too baggy. They are very comfortable and lightweight, great movement for active outdoor activities. I like that they are spill-resistant and quick-dry. The length is perfect and there are lots of attractive colors to choose from. I really like them and would have purchased several pairs in different colors except for one big flaw. The front pockets are too shallow. Maybe it was just a fluke in the pair got, but the pockets are only about 7" deep. Functional front pockets in any pants, no matter what style, should always be 9"-10" deep. That should be an unwavering spec. Any shallower and keys, glasses, phones, etc. will fall out when you sit or recline.
If there’s such a thing as dressier cargo shorts, these are it! I dislike the look of canvas or cotton cargo shorts, but wanted shorts with pockets to carry small things when I’m out photographing. The fabric is soft, and the cargo pockets don’t stick out. They lay flat. These are perfect!

Great shorts for hot days outside. Very comfortable. Easy to pack. Perfect for use. I like the various pockets, especially the zippered one. My only complaint is that the accompanying belt is very difficult to thread through the belt loops due to the size of the buckle.

It's not Colombia's fault I'm a bit overweight, but we just can't seem to get sizes that work (XXL), and that stay up, so I'm not pulling up my shorts all day long. The shorts are ok, but sizing (as always) is a real issue when ordering on the internet.

These are my favorite shorts; I now own 6 pairs. They are comfortable, have plenty of pockets, and are lightweight and dry easily. The downside? The belts that Columbia provides with them are terrible! They don't stay in place; the belt slips thru the buckle constantly. I have now gotten rid of those belts and use different belts.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I would give these shorts a five with a couple of changes. Moving the solo rear pocket flap from the right to the left because the wallet goes on the right and the flag would help secure it, and the phone goes on the left and doesn't need the flap. Second, move the front zipper pocket from the left to the right. It's awkward on the left.
