Good Design

Very good design overall from the large belly of the blade that improves slicing. The drop point is excellent for stabbing. The construction of the handle is solid and the grip texture is very positive. Is a great EDC knife especially in cities like New York

Large Drop Point Voyager Is A Very Effective Tool

I bought this knife for the purpose of being the “only” blade I could potentially have on me in an emergency. It’s in a minimalist bug out bag, where size and weight are of paramount importance. This knife is very big for use in the office, but gives me confidence that, if I need a tool, it won’t let me down. As a defensive weapon, it is an outstanding design. As a camp knife, it will get the job done. As an edc….it depends on your situation. It could be considered too big by some, but that is subjective. I think this is a great knife at a very good price. It’s not what I carry daily, but it’s what I have with me when I travel.

An Extremely Versatile Knife

I bought my first large Voyager back in ‘94 or ‘95, it went with me when I deployed to Bosnia in ‘97. Unfortunately the original had a plastic clip which broke and the knife was run over by a tank. Although the steel of the knife was virtually unscathed the handle was smashed flat. I sent it back to Cold Steel and they replaced the knife at no cost. Since that time I retired from the military and it is now my EDC knife. The knife has gutted, skinned and butchered every head of deer, elk, Moose and bear I have killed since 2003 when I retired and became a big game hunter/gun engraver/custom rifle maker. This knife is my go-to knife and I’d hate to be without it. Although mine is a much older model I would say you cannot go wrong with this knife.
