It's a ideal little lunch pail for my use. However, we have had it out in our back yard airing it out for three weeks now and the manufacturing oder is still there, just now starting to lessen. It's the outside of the item that is retaining the odor. Could this be that there is a water repellent chemical added to the outside? Thank you for your inquiry.
