Sizing Off, Tongue Bunches Up

They run larger than the previous versions. It is pretty annoying to me when the feel/sizing changes from previous versions. The laces also feel different and the tounge is easier to get bunched up and give pressure points on the top of the foot.

Sturdy & Stylish

So far, I love the Hyperion Max 4! I fell in love with the Hyperion Max 3, so I was anxiously waiting for the 4 to drop and they do not disappoint. First, I love the color way and think that the pictures do not do it justice. They are so cool in person. Overall design-wise, I love the lace up on this shoe & the support compared to the 3. This shoe definitely feels more sturdy than the 3. I highly recommend this shoe!

My New Go-to

I’ve been team Hyperion for years now and the Max 4’s did not disappoint. A nice comfortable ride that kept my legs fresh. Feels a little bouncier than the 3’s which had been my favorite to date. These knock them down to second place. Perfect shoe for a long run or speed work.

Perfect

Thank you so much for changing the tongue back, and the collar. I had to change shoes because the last model gave me blisters and rubbed my ankles raw. I preordered as soon as I saw you changed it back. They fit perfect and I am so happy🥰

Walking On Clouds

oh my god. I should have gotten into Brooks sooner. Hoka and On Cloud advertise that they feel like walking on clouds. This one actually feels like walking on clouds.

Building Up Mileage After Acl Surgery

Coming back from ACL surgery changes how I evaluate every piece of gear. Mileage increases that felt routine before surgery now carry real stakes. The Hyperion Max 4 is genuinely light. Not light in the way every shoe claims to be, but light in a way you feel the second you put it on. On tempo runs the heel-to-toe transition is clean and doesn’t pull my attention, which is exactly what I want from my shoes. The energy return is consistent. The plate and rocker keep me moving forward without forcing a particular stride pattern. It works with me rather than dictating to me which has been ideal in my runs. For ACL recovery, the combination of cushioning and plate geometry noticeably reduces the load I feel at the knee during push-off. As my mileage climbed each week this shoe absorbed variability that a stiffer platform would have sent straight to a joint still rebuilding tolerance. The underfoot protection held up well into longer efforts without that compressed, dead feeling I typically get at the 40 minutes mark of my runs. For workouts, tempos, and a controlled mileage build, it earns its place in my rotation. For recovery running specifically, it’s been the right tool for me.

Amazing Long Distance Shoe

The Brooks Hyperion Max 4 delivered an excellent combination of lightweight performance and dependable support throughout training and a half marathon. The shoe felt responsive during tempo runs and faster workouts, with strong energy return that made pace changes feel smooth and efficient. It was an excellent shoe for helping maintain speed while still providing enough stability and comfort for longer efforts. The heel-to-toe transition was exceptionally smooth, and the plate and rocker worked together to create noticeable forward momentum, especially at faster paces. Despite its lightweight feel, the shoe offered plenty of underfoot protection during long runs and race day, keeping my legs feeling fresh without sacrificing responsiveness. Overall, the Hyperion Max 4 balanced speed, cushioning, and efficiency exceptionally well, making it a versatile option for both hard training sessions and racing.

Hyperion Max 4

I had the opportunity to test the Brooks Hyperion Max 4, and my first impressions were very positive. Right away, I noticed how fun and eye-catching the design is. The colors are vibrant, and the glittery foam detail on the heel adds a unique touch that I really enjoyed. From a performance standpoint, the shoe felt excellent during both a long run and sprint intervals. I immediately noticed a sense of propulsion when landing and pushing off, which helped make my stride feel more efficient. During faster efforts, I felt stable and confident, and the shoe seemed to encourage me to pick up the pace. The heel-to-toe transition was one of the standout features for me. It felt incredibly smooth and natural, allowing me to move through each stride effortlessly. This contributed to an overall ride that felt fluid and enjoyable throughout the run. This was my first experience running in a shoe with a plate/rocker design, so there was a brief adjustment period at the beginning of the run. However, once I settled into my stride, I really appreciated the forward momentum. The shoe felt supportive and helped guide me through each step without feeling overly aggressive. I was also impressed by the balance between the lightweight feel and the level of cushioning and protection underfoot. Even during a longer run and higher intensity efforts, the shoe remained comfortable. I did notice a slightly unusual sensation around the middle of one foot during part of the run, but it was not painful and disappeared afterward. Since this is my first time using this style of shoe, I suspect it may simply be part of the adjustment process. Overall, I found the Hyperion Max 4 to be a fun, energetic, and supportive shoe that performed well across different paces. The smooth transitions, noticeable propulsion, and comfortable ride made it an enjoyable experience, and I'm looking forward to putting more miles on it.

Running On Air Cloud

This is my first time owning a high performance running shoe and it did not disappoint. The Hyperion Max 4 allowed me to keep at a fast set pace without losing energy due to foot fatigue during my daily run. The design of the shoe rocks and propels you forward with each stride. I only run a couple miles daily but felt I could complete more while wearing these shoes as the design of the shoe helped make my runs feel effortless. I love the cushion and balance the base of the shoe provides. My feet felt secure but also lightweight like I was running on air. The color of the shoe is a beautiful yellow gold with silver sparkling trim. The only negative I would say is the shoe runs a bit on the smaller side and I would recommend to go up a half size!

Love These Shoes!

I’ve never tried a shoe quite like the Hyperion Max 4. Yes, the underfoot rocker concept takes some getting used to, and yes, these shoes look a little bulkier. Minor inconveniences (if they can even be called that) for a remarkably lightweight and comfortable shoe. The underfoot cushion makes it feel like I’m running on a cloud and the breathable upper mesh is great for hot summer runs. These required no real break-in time and were basically ready to go out of the box. The rocker panel certainly felt like it was propelling me forward, although I’m not sure my run times reflected that. I also love the silver reflecting details and logo. When the back of the shoe catches the light, it’s a fun silvery shimmer. Hopefully, with the rubber outsoles, these shoes will last me a long time, as they have become my new go-to shoes for longer runs. These do seem to run slightly narrow in the toe box, so if you like a roomier feel, consider sizing up. Highly, highly recommend!

Speedy Endurance Shoes

The Hyperion Max 4 is a truly impressive shoe. I could feel the forward momentum from the rocker from the very first try-on. During long tempo runs, that momentum is noticeable, carrying you through the mid and later miles of a run. It kept my legs feeling fresh, even over longer distances. Brooks has definitely struck the perfect balance, creating an incredibly lightweight shoe that does not sacrifice underfoot protection. I also appreciate the durability of the rubber outsoles, which will help with longevity of the shoe. The heel-to-toe transition is seamless and fluid, making these my new go-to shoe for race days, for half marathons to full marathons. I feel that the Hyperion Max genuinely improves my speed, allowing me to maintain a faster pace over longer distances. While the fit is slightly snug due to the generous heel padding, this is a minor adjustment, and I found the shoe comfortable after just two runs. I love the overall design, vibrant color and fabric of the shoe. It is so breathable, yet holds shape and the tongue design is amazing, there is no slipping of it. Overall, the Hyperion Max 4 delivers a smooth, efficient, and highly responsive ride.

Boost With Every Step

The shoes are extremely comfortable, and the responsive sole makes it feel easier to run at a faster pace. The cushioning is very bouncy and almost feels like it gives you a little lift-off with each step. The rocker design makes forward movement feel effortless and encourages a faster pace. When running or sprinting, they almost make you feel more athletic by helping propel you forward. Their lightweight construction and stability are especially well-suited for high-intensity runs, sprints, and explosive movements. I only tested them on shorter runs and speed work, so I can’t speak to how they perform on longer distances.

Fast And Lightweight

So far, I’ve really enjoyed the new Hyperion Max 4. These shoes are perfect for days when I’m focused on improving my speed and pace. The SpeedVault plate effectively propels me forward without using excessive energy. Additionally, it provides excellent arch support, preventing my arches from feeling fatigued too quickly. The heel-to-toe transition is remarkably smooth, and the cushioning offers a comfortable yet stable feel. I appreciate the breathable upper, which strikes a balance between flexibility and support. The tongue remains securely in place, ensuring a snug fit. Overall, these shoes offer a lot of features while maintaining a lightweight feel. In my opinion, I found them to run slightly small, and I wish I had sized up from my usual 8.5 to a 9. Looking forward to putting many more miles on these shoes!

Fun And Fast

First impression is this is a fun and fast shoe. I have set out on a few easy runs and these shoes make you want to go fast. The RapidRoll Rocker makes for a much more efficient stride, I felt propelled with each step thanks to the structure of the sole and light springy feel of the shoe. They fit true to size, the upper is very comfortable, lightweight, and breathable, it feels similar to a sock. I was a little nervous about the tongue because it bunches quite a bit on my narrow foot, but the fabric is so light weight, I didn't even notice once I was running. The Hyperion Max 4 is incredibly lightweight, super comfortable while still offering support, and most importantly, fast.
