Great Trail Running Shoes

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Best shoes ever! I feel great running in these shoes. They hold my feet well so I feel like I can hit rocks without having my foot slide around and they've got the perfect amount of cushion and grip making me more confident on the trails I'm running. I have a short run on pavement to get to the trails and they feel just as good on the pavement as they do the trail. Highly recommend. My street shoe size is a 5.5 and that's what I have for these.

Brown Color More Of A Purple

These shoes fit great, but the brown color is inaccurate on their website. It's more of a purple.

Heel Too Narrow

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I really wanted to love these and ordered my normal size in wide. Unfortunately, the back of the heel is tight. Almost feels like it's meant to clamp the back of your foot in. I've issued a return and ordered a half size up so I'm hoping they work out better. Besides the tightness in the back, the shoe is otherwise comfy.

Puts A Spring In My Step

Fantastic, comfortable shoe that literally put a spring in my step. I use these for hiking on trails and the tread works great! They also look great so I could wear them any time. I bought a half size up due to other reviews. That was a good choice.

Cascadia 20, Good Cushioning For Hip Arthritis

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Overall very happy! I have hip arthritis and cushioning in sole is perfect and have decreased the pain with these sneakers. I also like the thicker shoe laces and narrower fit compared to the cascades 19. I never liked my cascading 19’s- always felt like they were sized as a wide shoe even though I got regular width. Highly recommend!

Adding Vibram Great, Narrowing Toe Box Not Great

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was really excited about adding the vibram to the 20s, and I love the grip! What I am not excited about is how the toe box got more narrow. The 18s had a perfect toe box width. The rock plate was also removed, and the cushioning got thicker. Would have been great to just add the vibram.

Brooks Cascadia 20

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] What I Liked The Cascadia 20 strikes me as one of the best all-around trail shoes currently available. The standout feature is the combination of comfort and stability. The plush cushioning does an excellent job smoothing out rough terrain, including rocks and smaller trail obstacles, while still feeling predictable and secure underfoot. I felt very in-charge of my running while wearing this shoe. The Vibram grip was excellent across gravel, dirt, and rocky trails. I especially loved the outsole design, including the multidirectional lugs around the heel, which helped maintain confidence on both climbs and descents. The level of detail on the lugs is incredible, with further chisel around the hexagonal lugs, which I found to really add from a grip perspective, as they seemed to really grasp on to the grounding. The upper and lacing system deserve recognition, as well. The shoe is easy to put on, the laces are the right length, and the elastic keeper is a thoughtful feature that is very helpful for tucking in extra lacing to prevent untying and/or tripping. Everything feels secure without being overly complicated. Perhaps the biggest compliment I can give the Cascadia 20 is that it feels somewhat like a road-running shoe that happens to perform very well on trails. The ride is smooth and comfortable, making it easy to settle into longer efforts or simply enjoy a day on the trails. I even took these for a spin on the road, and the feel was quite familiar. I used the shoe just as readily for trail running (daily easy mileage) as I did for basic hiking, and it worked wonderfully in all cases. Noteworthy Mention The same cushioning that makes the Cascadia 20 so comfortable may not appeal to everyone. The higher stack height and plush ride sacrifice some of the low-to-the-ground agility and trail feel that more technical or speed-oriented runners may prefer. Runners who enjoy a highly nimble shoe with significant ground feedback may find the Cascadia 20 a bit isolated from the terrain. The Cascadia 20 prioritizes comfort and stability over maximum agility, and whether that is a drawback depends largely on personal preference and intended use. Who I Would Recommend It For I would recommend the Cascadia 20 to runners and hikers looking for a comfortable, stable, versatile trail shoe that can handle a wide variety of terrain. It excels as a daily trail trainer, for long easy trail runs, moderate technical terrain, gravel paths, and hiking.

Get Them!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Ran a trail half right out of the box - just added my currex insoles- flawless. I ordered a half size up and it was perfect. I also own the ghost trails and these are tougher, more supportive, and offer a lot more for technical trails. Can’t wait for my 16 miler in February! I can’t make a statement on longevity but all my Brooks make it about 500 miles. They make a stellar shoe.

My Fave Brooks So Far!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've been wearing Brooks for more than a decade, for running and hiking shoes. I have always been happy with my shoe fit and wear. But this particular pair fits JUST right and is giving the support and cushion I needed from a slight heel injury. And not sure if this is allowed, but paired with my new Bombas hiking socks? Omg, my hikes are now heavenly, hiking up and down in the beautiful PACNW region I am lucky to live in, and the combo of these shoes and socks is like nothing I have experienced. I am hoping to get another pair before these sell out, so I can alternate and keep them fresher longer. The ONLY thing that could have made them better would be to offer in black, my preference.

The Perfect Shoe

I bought Brooks Cascadia's a few years back on the recommendation of the shoe recommendation app Fitter. I have high arches, mortons neuromas, and I supinate. I also wanted to move from wearing hiking boots, to trail shoes for our multi day hikes. I am just so in love with these shoes. This is my second pair. They are perfect for my needs. They provide great grip, stability, give my toes room to spread out and are smart enough to wear out and about when we are travelling overseas to do multi-way hikes. My absolute go to shoe which I would be lost without.
