Men's Are Perfect For A Female Between B & D Width

My mom has a fused ankle due to a horse accident years ago and CRPS in the other leg, so needs a lot of horizontal support to keep her feet from rolling sideways, but traditional support shoes are ugly and very heavy. I knew we just needed to try a running or walking shoe with modern tech, and after she saw my latest On running shoes, she was finally willing to stop at Dick's with me. She tried several brands and models, and the men's Ghost Max is perfect for her. A women's standard width is just a bit too narrow in the toe box since she needs to be able to spread her toes for balance, while the wide was too loose in the heel, but the men's standard width is just right - toe room but no heel slippage. A week later she decided she loved them so much we ordered the olive so she has a darker color for messy cold weather. VERY grateful to have found her a comfortable, supportive, high-quality shoe that is still lightweight so she doesn't get tired as quickly, and she feels so much more stable on her feet than in the too-soft Skechers she used to wear to get a break from the brick-like support shoes she also wore. Great Stability

I bought the Ghost Max 4 after reading the reviews, and it’s my first pair of Brooks. I’m very happy with them. I broke my fibula and spent six weeks in a medical boot. When I came out of it, I needed shoes that were comfortable and stable. The Ghost Max 4 are incredible. The rocker lets me walk naturally, and the cushioning is excellent. I’d definitely recommend them to anyone with foot problems similar to mine. I haven’t tried running in them yet.

Major Pain During My Japan Trip With Ghost Maxs

I cannot exclaim how disappointed I am with my purchase of this shoe. I generally wear regular Ghosts and decided to get Ghost Maxs to try before my trip to Japan. I thought it may have been another level of comfort from the regular Ghosts. Needless to say, by only the 2nd day of my trip - walking in these became EXCRUCIATING. You would think with the bigger sole that there would be a lot of cushion and I have zero clue on the dynamics behind it but after walking in them for 20 min, I would start to get this super bad pain in my heel to mid sole area. I have never had any foot related injuries so I know 110% it was this specific shoe. I was in Japan for 2 weeks and these were the only shoes I brought so just had to deal with the pain and still recovering from it as we speak. This isn’t a knock on Brooks at all, because I have owned many pairs of shoes by them and love the company. I just wish more than anything I could trade these in for just a pair of the regular Ghost 18s but unfortunately bought mine through Academy and they don’t accept returns.

Not Nearly As Good As The 3's!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Having enjoyed the Ghost Max 2, then three pairs of the Ghost Max 3 which I LOVE, I found the Ghost Max 4's to be very disappointing. I should have listened to the some of the other reviewers who commented on the toe box being narrowed and the cushioning being a little stiffer but no, I took the leap and wasted money on the GHM 4's. Other reviewers felt the toe box in the 4E widths were narrower and as a 2E customer I found the 2E to also being much narrower and less roomy as the 2's or the beloved 3's. I hope Brooks rights the ship and brings back the style and roominess of the GHM 3's or I will be looking at a new shoe brand.

Colour 096 Is Misleading - Not As Shown

The main reason this review is low is because the colour of "096 - CMA CRYSTALLIZED BLACK/GRAPHITE/GREY" is completely misleading. The photo online looks like a black (and in fact it is described as partly black) or dark charcoal shoe with a silvery blue sole. In fact the shoe is a mid-grey colour, not quite as light as "015 - GREY/GREY/EBONY", but almost. If you are looking for a dark/charcoal/black shoe with a bit of interest, this is NOT the shoe for you. Nearly sent it back as the product does NOT match the description, but I needed it urgently for travel. Very annoying.
