Great Stability

I bought the Ghost Max 4 after reading the reviews, and it’s my first pair of Brooks. I’m very happy with them. I broke my fibula and spent six weeks in a medical boot. When I came out of it, I needed shoes that were comfortable and stable. The Ghost Max 4 are incredible. The rocker lets me walk naturally, and the cushioning is excellent. I’d definitely recommend them to anyone with foot problems similar to mine. I haven’t tried running in them yet.

Major Pain During My Japan Trip With Ghost Maxs

I cannot exclaim how disappointed I am with my purchase of this shoe. I generally wear regular Ghosts and decided to get Ghost Maxs to try before my trip to Japan. I thought it may have been another level of comfort from the regular Ghosts. Needless to say, by only the 2nd day of my trip - walking in these became EXCRUCIATING. You would think with the bigger sole that there would be a lot of cushion and I have zero clue on the dynamics behind it but after walking in them for 20 min, I would start to get this super bad pain in my heel to mid sole area. I have never had any foot related injuries so I know 110% it was this specific shoe. I was in Japan for 2 weeks and these were the only shoes I brought so just had to deal with the pain and still recovering from it as we speak. This isn’t a knock on Brooks at all, because I have owned many pairs of shoes by them and love the company. I just wish more than anything I could trade these in for just a pair of the regular Ghost 18s but unfortunately bought mine through Academy and they don’t accept returns.

Not Nearly As Good As The 3's!

Having enjoyed the Ghost Max 2, then three pairs of the Ghost Max 3 which I LOVE, I found the Ghost Max 4's to be very disappointing. I should have listened to the some of the other reviewers who commented on the toe box being narrowed and the cushioning being a little stiffer but no, I took the leap and wasted money on the GHM 4's. Other reviewers felt the toe box in the 4E widths were narrower and as a 2E customer I found the 2E to also being much narrower and less roomy as the 2's or the beloved 3's. I hope Brooks rights the ship and brings back the style and roominess of the GHM 3's or I will be looking at a new shoe brand.

Why don’t you make it in all white? I never will understand shoe brands that don’t have an all white option in every model they make. Also, please bring back a replica of the Ghost Max 2! Best shoe ever.

Great Stiff Shoe

Great stiff shoe! I have 4 surgeries on my foot and ended up with two fusions. I have to wear a stronger support shoe and these Ghost deliver. I am able to walk and exercise with great support and no pain.

Awesome color (olive green), and fits true to size. Feels great from step-in and has enough room in the midfoot, which was an issue for me in the previous version. Very good shoe for daily training or just for lifestyle wear.

Brooks Man.. Now!

Wow! I've been wearing various Hoka shoes (Cliftons, Bondis, etc...) for the past few years but now I am a Brooks man for the foreseeable future. Unbelievable comfort! The rocker seems to propel you forward each stride. I also prefer the style much better than the Hoka. I don't do much running but I do walk a lot especially on 14 day trips to Disney! I'm looking forward to trying these out at the parks next year, Lord willing!
