Tech Approach

Like the clean look. They fit well (run about a size small), even better after break in period to soften "hard" spots. Was going to order Circuit, but they got removed from website.

Too Small

I ordered these shoes in size 14 but they were way too small - felt more like a 13. I have another pair of Black Diamond shoes in 14 and they fit perfectly, but these were not wearable in the same size.

I Think I Found My Approach Shoe

I was looking for an approach shoe more for light climbing than hiking and I wanted a somewhat flat sole. I haven’t used them in the wild yet, but here are my impressions: I like the wrap tongue and the locked in heel it provides. The suede outer provides a conforming fit. The sole is sticky, it even grips my smooth tiled floors. The toe box is not narrow, but not overly wide either. The sole is somewhat stiff, but the toe is flexible. The round treads are not tall. As for sizing, they are labeled wrong by one whole size in my opinion. I use a EU 41 performance foot bed in most of my sports shoes and my sports shoes- xc ski boots, snowboard boots, cycling shoes, etc are EU 41. I bought a size 9/42 based on other reviews and my 41 footbed fits the USA 9/ EU 42 perfectly. Oh, one more thing, the flat laces suck, replace them with rounds, and when you tie up, use the tongue pull tab to pull the tongue to the open side and tie your knot on the opposite side to lock it all into place.

Sizing Issues

I received the shoe, the build quality was perfect as usual for black diamond equipment. I was very excited to try them out. However they did not fit. I have several black diamond shoes and have always gotten the same size through them. But this time my toes were curled up at the end of the shoe, they were wayyy smaller than my other black diamond shoes. I returned them and am about to order a whole size up. Besides the sizing issues they look and feel very high quality and I am ready to get my second pair so I can actually go adventure in them. Recommend sizing up a whole size.

Pretty Good

Use these shoes for approaches and scrambles. Love the grip, love the look, love the sticky rubber. Only gave 4 stars to leave room for improvement.

Great approach shoe for climbing. Snug fit cool style good color don’t know about how long they’ll last. But I think they’re well built

1 Full Size Small Shoes

I love Black Diamond, I have got couple of pairs and they look great. This shoes look just amazing on my feet.... But shoe is way smaller than usual size. I wear size 11 in 100% of cases with all shoes I own. According to reviews I have ordered 11,5 instead of 11 that is but it was a mistake.. I should have ordered 12 and may be it would be better, if I were in a shop I would try 12,5 as well (but I do not like big shoes on my feet). So unfortunately, shoes are useless for me as I am out of return area/timing and I can not wear them. Order at least 1 size bigger and it will be fine.

Comfy And Gets The Job Done

Bought these a month ago and so far very happy with the. I'm glad I followed the advice from other reviews and sized up a half size, I'm normally a 10 an ordered these in a 10.5 and they fit perfectly. Highly recommend!

Like A Well Fitting Glove

The first fit was a little tight. After I wore them a couple of times around town, they melded with my feet. They are excellent. Great grip on stone/rock/concrete works well with the microspikes. 10/10 would recommend them to my friends.

I Bought These Shoes For

I bought these shoes for mainly bouldering at the indoor gym. My feet are wide so I found these shoes very comfortable and I could easily climb routes 5.6-5.8. Recommended

Outstanding

The is comfortable right ot the box with no break in time. Love the heel pocket, just wraps around your foot like a glove. No slippage! Can wear these all day! Would and will buy again. Thanks for a quality shoe.👍

A True Approach Shoe!

I have been climbing around 28 years, and I have worn a bunch of approaches shoes in my day,these are the real deal! Excellent approach shoe !took a couple days to break in, and now they’re super comfy! Loads of traction, the lacing system is really good, it goes down to the front of the shoe which is what I like in approach shoe, I’m definitely going to get another pair !👍👍

Stiff And Edgy

These shoes are at home climbing moderates, wide cracks, and walking the dog. Solid!

Finally A Good Shoe

Wore these over 100 days this season. On long hikes, scree, and lower fifth class. They have held up super nicely, just now am I noticing them flattening out. Would highly recommend these.
