I was worried about how big this is compared to other shovels but it’s small enough to fit in my vest pack and big enough to dig fast in case of emergency to dig people out. Love the hoe feature too, I can see how this will be super useful!

This thing is a work horse. It comes in my pack ski touring in the BC but also lives in my car all winter when not in use. There is ZERO give in the assembly and the hoe-mode is way more useful than i expected. Thankfully, I have not needed to use this to dig anyone out yet but I did end up using the chop thick ice off of my driveway and it worked phenomenally. It is quite large so it may not fit in every pack but it is a very worthy investment. If you have a small pack I'd recommend the Evac 7

I needed a larger, strudy shovel for use in a car. This one works great.

It’s a shovel and seems to shovel well. I shove it in my pack and shove off knowing I’m prepared.

The shovel is everything that I expected. It is well build and the ability to change how the shovel functions by changing the orientation of the handle add functionality. It is compact and well built.

This thing is giant but still fits in a day pack. Boy does this though move some snow. Love that it also has the hoe mode.

Great for snow camping and as a constant companion when the roads are icy.

Excellent design and build quality. Assembles seamlessly in both a scoop and hoe configuration. Lightweight but sturdy. Handle extends to provide a reasonable amount of leverage for such a packable shovel. I have one in each vehicle in the winter and stuff them in my avy pack when headed out in the backcountry.

Bought it, used it, and I very much love it. It is durable, light, and handy. Found this from the outdoor boys, you guys should totally reach out and sponsor him!

This is truly the industry’s best shovel, hands down. Hands on?! As a professional avalanche instructor, we have validated this claim for YEARS. We won’t recommend anything else.

Feels like a more solid construction than the BCA it will replace. Nice weight balance.

easy to use, very strong, extremely lightweight. this is a great shovel to carry in the backcountry or have in your car just in case.

I’ve broken my share of shovels (will not mention brands) but the BD Evac line is about as tough and ergonomic to use as they come. IMO it’s worth the extra $$ when you know you can rely on it.

Sturdy build, basic in a good way. Exactly what you need

Great shovel. Lightweight and compact enough for carrying around but still feels sturdy enough to get the job done.
