I just finished up a 7 day bike tour with the blacktail hotel 2p, and the tent worked great for me. The garage part of the fly is just big enough that I can pull it over my bike, as well as store all my panniers and such. It keeps all the dusty dirty gear out of the actual tent, but is still easily within reach through the inside door. Awesome!

A Bikepacking Essential.
This foot print makes it possible to go even lighter with the Blacktail Hotel; I all together left the tent at home and just brought my poles, rainfly, stakes and footprint for my last two trips. Unless it’s going to be extremely buggy I’d recommend the same.
