This is a knife that excels in any bushcraft and survival task, and under any weather condition. The only task this knife is not appropriate for is chopping. The reason being is that it was not designed for it, which is true for almost all bushcraft and survival knives. If you need to chop wood, you’ll be better with a machete or a machete-like knife, something with a longer, heavier blade. I appreciate the excellent rust resistance offered by the s30v blade, and I am greatly impressed with its performance. For my medium hand size, the handle is very comfortable. I haven’t have any hot spots. The only drawback of this knife is the sheath. It is a good looking sheath, but I don’t believe it will last long. I suggest you waterproof it with mink oil.
